Solid start, maybe we should just switch to D2? But if tonight's start or the performance against Guilford is any indication that might be tough too

The crowd looks shockingly sparse on FloHoops.

Jamari Thomas looks so much better running the point than Sims that it makes the whole "experiment" look very stupid. It's like Coach really wants to play Sims but can't figure out exactly what to do with him...

This is absolutely pathetic.

RE: Mount Olive game
At the 1st half under 8:00 timeout we have more turnovers (7) than assists (5).

Yikes.

But hey. Jacksonville’s defense was really good and I’m sure someone will post some numbers showing Mt Olive’s D is really good too.

We have shown more movement and passing . Then wah-lah! We perform better.

Go figure.

RE: Mount Olive game
I have to say that we looked better with Jamari, Shy and Mike being the lead guard. Mike is not bad in that role. White and Harvey played well and you can see Jamari looking a little more confident as a PG.

Our defense was not good at first. It was good to see Saab out there some. He has some size and looks like he could really help us when JB goes to bench or eventually with him some.

UNCW down 26-19 with 9:53 left

Okauru stays in

Out - Sims, Thomas, Fornes, Samb,
In - Phillips, Baker, White, Harvey

5:52 UNCW up 36-28(out scored UMO 17-2 in 4 minutes)

Sorry, but this team looks quicker and more aggressive on offense and defense when Sims is on the bench.

It will be interesting to see who Coach starts at point in the second half. Will he learn from clinical observation?

Ok that’s great but how is the Icelandic Curling team doing?

Here's to hoping, he hadn't been learning this season thus far!

Sims is very mechanical. When the ball gets in his hands our movement on offense slows down and it doesn't matter where he is on the court. He doesn't get the ball out of his hands quickly when he passes. He tends to dribble and look around. That's why he is best when his feet are set and he shoots off the pass.

RE: Mount Olive game
My biggest conern tonight is our "big men" are doing most of the damage scoring against a much smaller team in the paint. Haven't seen we can do that against decent sized D1 competition.

RE: Mount Olive game
Probably the best thing I am seeing tonight is White hitting the three. If he can expand his offense and shoot from three, he can be really good. Otherwise, we're playing an overmatched DII team so it's hard to tell how this will translate.

Mount Olive is overmatched...and tired.

Samb is a really intriguing player. I'd really like to see him on the court more. Quick, good handles, good size.
