Didn't say that, I thought I was being nice acknowledging you, you tried to make a funny by interjecting a snide comment that had nothing to do with the topic.
ETSU has hired coaches that have coached at UT. There are hundreds of coaches out there who have Tennessee on their resumes. Not a big shocker that some end up here.
There isn't some kind of pattern. It does make sense. Those coaches know the region, they have contacts in the areas ETSU is going to do most of the recruiting. Hire the Running back coach from Arizona or the dude who has been to Science Hill on a recruiting trip? I mean not like we have a chance at any of the current staff in Knoxville. Whoever comes might have coached at UT 13 years and 3 jobs ago (Like Sanders) who knows?
This will be the 3rd time for Talyor. No clue if he will get it but he sure has been patient.

I think this was a serious question. Tee Martin came up in a google search I did. Take that for what it is worth.

Wide receivers coach for NFL team.. I am not taking it for much.
People are going to sling names like crazy so they can say they were
right if one gets the job.
Seems like a step back for Martin.

Ed Orgeron's name also came up in google search. I was surprised with that one but not surprised in the Tee Martin name.

Regarding the players in the transfer portal, I would like to see local businesses step up and sign more of these star players to NIL deals. The community should give these guys such good deals that they don’t want to leave.
I think that’s where Pat Good made a mistake. He may have or get a deal down at Winthrop, but I don’t think it could be anywhere near as good as what he could’ve had here if he had stayed. Local kid who fans adore, he could have raked in some serious cash if he were here this year. We need to do the same for our current players, and a community our size ought to be able to pull it off. That’s one way you could really take our sports program up a level or two.

Tremond Shorts already has a power 5 offer and several others. He graduated from ETSU and has one year left. He SHOULD go! Donovan Manuel might also have a better opportunity.
There is an advantage to having some people leave if we hire the right guy, and use this year as a springboard to upgrade the roster. Previously, our ability to use this season to our advantage on the recruiting trail was limited by the number of seniors.

The covid bonus year is a great opportunity for some of these guys to take on a new experience. Can’t blame them at all. I actually wondered if Quay would test the FBS waters instead of trying to go the NFL route. Tremond has a real chance to play on Sundays and he will have many choices for next year.

Don’t know how this NIL thing will play out, especially at the FCS level. I’m rather suspicious of this whole thing, especially monitoring it and enforcing it. But, our recruiting is about to take a hit, certainly for the early December recruiting. Good grief — that’s this week, Dec 15!! We will BE BEHIND our competitors on the recruitment trail. And, our assistant coaches — they’re now in limbo. If it will be Billy Taylor, then Carter needs to name him first thing in the morning so he can pick up where recruitment stood with Sanders and aggressively move forward. If we spend December naming a coach, then ETSU will be looking to February to pick among those either not offered in December, or those few who decided to wait until February.

RE: Next Year / Randy Sanders Retirement
To be fair about recruiting, Sanders has been saying we wouldn’t be active in the early period and that most of the guys we were after were waiting for Power 5 offers and that when those offers didn’t come he was hoping that the guys he was after would choose ETSU.

I think it should be Taylor. That would keep most of current staff intact and keep recruiting going. A new, outside coach would likely bring in new coaches and disrupt the program. Team is winning. Keep current staff and keep program moving forward.

What was Sanders' salary? That's going to be the driver. I say keep it in house.

This is 100% false. Billy Taylor wants the job and in my opinion deserves it considering the ties to the program and the success he has had as the defensive coordinator.

There are 21 people on Sanders’ staff that are anxious today. This is an entirely different situation than the usual. Staffs are usually caught up in the FIRING of the head coach. This staff is part of at least the second most successful football team in school history - with more wins in one season than any other. They obviously did their jobs well and certainly don’t deserve the pink slip. Hope Sanders is pushing for Billy Taylor.

FCSNation host said on the morning monster that he knew “for a fact” that a NFL assistant with ETSU ties would be interested in the job and could stick around for 15+ years. Who would that be?

RE: Next Year / Randy Sanders Retirement
I don't see this playing out; but, if Holmes doesn't get picked in the NFL, could he come back? I think I recall that, if a player declares for the draft, that's used to be the end of his college career, regardless of whether he was drafted or not. I think I also recall that the NCAA has relaxed that rule and lets players test the waters. Am I correct or not?
