Wishing the Herd best of luck in their bowl game. This rivalry will be missed when you guys move down to the SBC (sorry, had to say it). Hopefully in a few years, we can get you guys on the schedule once ya'll leave. I imagine getting yall scheduled scheduled will be tough the first few years because OOC games are already set years ahead.

I couldn’t watch any of this game, so I have a couple questions… When exactly was Marshall’s QB knocked out of the game, and what was the score at that time?

It's a shame that we will never know what would have happened if Wells didnt get hurt.
That being said, congratulations.
Your QB being sidelined affects your ability to score points. It doesn't explain your special teams mishap or your defense's inability to stop us in the second half the same way they did the first half.
That is one of the dumbest statements I have ever read on this board and it really highlights your football knowledge or lack thereof. Losing a starting QB affects EVERYTHING.
Let me break it down really simply for you:
When Wells went down, you all couldn't do crap against us. Offense or defense.
When we had to put our backup in, he can barely throw, therefore we became one-dimensional and WKU did not have to really defend anything other than a run or screen pass. When we go three and out, our defense cannot rest and therefore gets gassed after multiple three and outs. Like your defense was in the first 2 qtrs. See how this works?
With Wells in, we continue more of what we were doing to you, therefore putting stress on your defense while being able to rest ours by putting together sustained drives.
Here endeth the lesson.
Yeah all this is false and all I'm hearing are excuses. Ali was running the ball well for you guys, even the broadcasters had absolutely no clue why you you weren't utilizing Ali more after Wells went out. I'm sorry we're a better team than you and that offends you, but you don't have to be so toxic. If your whole team is dependent upon one player (a sub-par QB), then how good was it really anyways?
And there is the SECOND! Congratulations.
When all you have to bring to the table are ad hominems... big yikes.
To the Marshall fans who aren't completely oblivious, great game tonight and gl in your bowl

We were up 14-3 near the end of the second quarter when Grant went down.

To be fair if Grant stays in, we both probably push the over by a lot.

Western, I will miss playing y'all the most out of the CUSA 3.0 era.
Our series is now tied at 4-4, and was hyper competitive.

Wow! Are you too young to remember the MAC years... Miami, Toledo, WMU, CMU... they all hated Marshall and rooted against Marshall even in OOC games.

Good game Marshall. Hope Wells is healthy for the bowl game. Once he left the momentum in the game shifted completely.

Thanks. That’s really unfortunate in a game like this. With the talk about how it changed the game and what may have been, my only observation from not being able to watch is this…
Since WKU won 53-21, it means they outscored Marshall 50-7 in barely more than 2 quarters. I agree with the posters who say it’s all connected and how big a blow losing a QB can be, but would having Wells have made a 32-point difference in 2 quarters? I mean, it’s not as though he’s a Heisman winner or something. It just doesn’t seem WKU is getting any credit by some for halftime adjustments they probably made offensively and that the whole outcome is being based on one player being out for half the game.

The real shame in all this is that two teams who obviously should be in the same conference will not be.
Best to the Herd in the future-- from a now----- former rival.

You will next week tho. We’re never gonna agree but we’d have won with Wells. So therefore I’m not even mad
