Nice road win for the guys! Great to see the upper classmen showing the young guys how to do it on the road. Should be a fun trip for the team out west.

RE: @Delaware State - Game 4
I don't usually accept the excuse of 3 games in 5 days for not playing well. But when it's flying to Pittsburgh and playing on Tuesday, jumping back on a plane at 3:30 in the morning, playing a good Coastal team with a lot of energy. Then hopping on another plane to Dover Delaware. I can understand how brutal that can be on a team that plays the style of game we do. It was an ugly win, but these men gutted it out. I believe that, along with the Montana trip, this all will pay dividends in the long run.
Now, for all you couch coaches. I've done more than sit back and judge our athletes. I have talked with and listened to Siddle on the process he is instilling. In the beginning, players were not executing what they were learning in practice. It started to click two and a half games in. I am hoping they will continue to buy into the process. Right now we are moving in the right direction. Can't guarantee it will continue, but I do know this coaching staff has the right vision for success.

RE: @Delaware State - Game 4
This game reminded me of the Guilford game. These smaller, quick teams give us trouble since we can't stay in front of them on the drive, and we aren't a huge team that can just dominate them in the post. We also don't have the quickness advantage to get to missed three pointers on the rebound.
It was good to see us heat up from three in the second half.

I agree
Previous teams would have let this game slip away
This Montana tournament will be very interesting and I hope we continue to make progress

Wonder if coach springs for post-game ice cream to celebrate a road victory?

I don’t disagree, but the one thing that is puzzling to me is every time we have pressed in just about every game good things have happened, yet, we are not doing it as often as we should. We have the horses and are playing deep, press press and press some more!

RE: @Delaware State - Game 4
We pressed today and it paid off several times.
We didn’t attack the zone well in the last 6 minutes. The first 14 minutes of 2nd half the Hawks moved the ball well and scored.
I will add that they were much better than last year, especially their defense. That was an active zone and they switched to man just enough to disrupt continuity.
Overall, it’s good to get the win.
Anyone know anything about Harvey? He looked good the other day and had the look of a guy about to break through.

Was a bit concerned after not seeing him on the bench today, but he shared an Instagram post about the win afterward, so that's a good sign. Assume he just wasn't feeling well or something like that.
Hopefully he's ready to go on Wednesday night, because as you said, he was awesome on Thursday vs. Coastal. He seems to have great defensive instincts to go with good length and a solid basketball IQ. Excited to watch him get better -- just has the feel of a winning player that can do a number of things to help your team.

RE: @Delaware State - Game 4
Delaware State has won 1 MEAC title. They were a 16 seed in the 2005 NCAA Tournament and played Duke. Their quickness kept them in the game for a long time by keeping the score down. Duke won 57-46.
The school is located in Dover, Delaware's capital. The Speedway is near downtown.

RE: @Delaware State - Game 4
Haven’t listened to much of the coach talk shows but what is the deal with Harvey. Surprised he’s not getting more minutes. Seems to have the defensive energy/length/athleticism fit for a Siddle team. I like Fornes as a person and his story. Imo he and Sims could give him some minutes but what do I know. Particularly with an offense struggling each night without a defensive lift.
Not trying to put negative spin with some positives on the W side but something seems off with Harvey not getting more minutes and now is apparently not with the team? Or maybe he is? Coach is obviously seeing something that I’m not.

Harvey played about 26 minutes per game last year and shot 36 percent from three. He's barely seeing the court this year behind Fornes and Oglesby. I can't imagine he's going to hang around long. If he transfers now, he can play next spring semester. A lot of players are hitting the portal right now. I hope he stays because imo he has one of the most complete offensive games on the team, and we need scoring desperately.

I don't understand why Fornes is getting 30 minutes per game. He doesn't help build for the future and his production is decen,t but not irreplaceable. I'd rather he get 15-18 minutes and Harvey get 12-15 vs the current trend of Harvey playing sporadic minutes and Fornes getting 30/game. I hoped that the Coastal game was a sign of things to come.

My best and only guess on this is because of his longer relationship with Siddle dating back to the final Keatts year?
I think we all agree though, if he doesn't significantly pick up the production those minutes should be going to a player like Harvey.

With 3 games in 3 days coming up, I have to imagine this is an important opportunity for Harvey to get some significant minutes.

Fornes' minutes are falling. He's gone from 30 mpg to 26.8 might. From first to fourth in minutes. While White's minutes are climbing.

I hope so, but then Fornes got 29 minutes against DSU. Hopefully some guys step up this week.
