There are so many issues that only one or two don't stand out.....

They went away from the hiring formula that was working - not saying hiring the up and coming OC will work every time but that is the best move to make.

Now, they done messed it up....

Our special teams play stands out. Ridiculous giving teams the ball on the 40 because you cannot defend the kickoff or reach the end zone. Had our special teams and kicking game been just average this year we likely reach 8 wins

All this talk about replacing Silverfield is just that. Talk. All he has to do is:

1) Hire better Coordinators.
2) Quit playing not to lose when he has the lead.
3) Fix the running game
4) Fix the Offensive Line.
5) Fix the Kicking game
6) Fix play calling
7) Fix Defense on 3rd Down and Long
8) Improve Clock Management

Other than that he seems to be doing a really good job on getting the team to the games on time.

The good news is that despite all the adversity this year and the really dumb decision making - we are still in fairly decent shape to beat Tulane and go to a Bowl. Accomplish that and odds are he could make it to mid-season or so next year.

All a humble opinion of course and you may see it different.

Exactly right. How do we go from Kicker U to this in one season??

Yeah, there are WAY too many facets that are just bad. What's he going to do? Fire the OC, DC, and ST coaches? Then what? If it's down to doing that then maybe it's also time to get a new head man......

Beating Tulane next shouldn't impress anyone but losing to them should result in an immediate head coaching change.

#3 is the one that really concerns me...He is a former offensive line coach.

That should be one of the teams strengths.

Can let the disappointment crush you or you can get out and cheer like hell to beat Tulane and make a bowl, which beats the hell out of 5-7

Take the lumps this year get all that extra experience for the frosh who played get rid of Johns and win a lot more games next season

Or whine

I hope Tulane blows us out so there is no doubt left that we need a new coach.

Freeze pleeze.

Freeze will never coach here.

Not with that attitude.

or....we could always oh I dunno....use the firm that got us Fuente and Norvell. That seemed to work out ok

i agree to a point line should be better but we using a 3rd string lineman.. Penny had a career .774 freethrow percentage and les than 2.5 turnovers. should be our strength in BB...
