Bates had 5 points and 4 turnovers
2-10 from the floor
Ouch
Bates is 17. Alo is 22 at least
Pointing out the obvious doesn't mean we are down on the kid. He just had a bad night, there's no denying it.
Comparing a freshman to a senior who has been in Penny’s system since 6 grade is spot on imo. The Lomax experiment is way past over. Time to play someone else. Lester, Nolley, Bates, Earl, Tyler even Williams at point power forward. That “ball handler” dribbled into 2 half court traps in the last 3 minutes.
Help me out, I'm not sure if we are arguing or agreeing.

By getting hurt and letting Boogie take over?
And he, by no means, won the game last night. Duren won it. Several other players contributed and most made some really stupid mistakes.
That is accurate.

Minot?
You playing Minot ahead of Lomax...
Yes. Those are your 7 best players. They should get the majority of the minutes. If Alo is as bad as he was last night you might as well give his mins to Tyler or Jayden; at least they have to be guarded at the 3 point line. Minot and Nolley should be your first two off the bench.
When our offense had trouble with Alo on the court I noticed he would get the ball around the top of the key, dribble around, someone would set a screen around the three point line and the defender was not just going under the screen but basically backing up to the free throw line to make sure Duren could not get a clean role to the rim.
Between his inability to shoot and breaking down a defender he really struggled and looked bad against the zone defense.

It was weird to watch when our players threw it directly to the other guys.
If we had had a loose canon at PG--one that pouted and freaked when he made a mistake...welp...I shudder to think about the outcome of that game. Just in case, y'all haven't noticed...we have some head cases --albeit very talented ones--but their heads have to be taken into consideration as well as their physical talent.
I think this turnover thing is a Dejavu. Weren't we doing the same thing last year.
But it is good we are all talking about it incessantly--just like the media does. Maybe the coaches will finally read here and re-think their decisions.

Yep. I’ve talked to Alo and he is by far one of the nicest young men to ever wear Tiger blue but that doesn’t give him the right to play over the likes of Earl, Bates, LQ, Nolley and throw in Boogie.

Boogie---there was another head case. He was so down on himself and homesick. I think the left coast and being near San Diego have done him a world of good.

Leaves you two spots, 1) goes to Lawson as a backup big and the other is 1 of Alo, Harris or Jayden.
Any other coach in the country wouldn’t play Alo, Tyler or Jayden over Earl, Bates, Nolley and Q. And even Boogie.
I agree with your top 7 and starters at this point - surprised Earl didn't close the game out last night.

Top 7 is about right but so far the biggest disappointment to me is the backup center. Dandridge is fine if his mind is in the game which hasn't happened much this year so far. Lawson hasn't shown me anything. Penny should give a few minutes to both in the first half to see what he's got for the game. If not much from both, give some backup center minutes to Williams and hope he doesn't pick up cheap fouls. Duren seems good for at least 30 min. per game and hope he stays out of foul trouble.

I thought when Earl was playing well, he was off the ball--not PG.

Everyone knows Ike enjoys watching the TREY BALLS drop
However, he really enjoys watching the Tigers WIN
And Ike can't wait to hear what the coaches on this board have to say, IKE's been told Penny rushes home to
Find out how to prepare for his next upcoming game.
Word on the street,
A couple of Dudes told Ike Penny said he'd be a complete failure if he didn't have instructions from the coaches on
This board. Ike bets they help Penny recruit too and donate BIG MONEY

Lots of folks on here must take a nap every time we're on defense. Lomax played d on McNight whenever he was in. Lester did when he wasn't. Except for about 30 seconds, we tried Timberlake ... he picked up 2 fouls in that experiment !!! But hey, he was great on offense.

Kinda ... he WAS PG in that he was running the offense a lot. He was just to slow to guard McNight. Alo shut the dude down. He had 10 turnovers !!! Hell, watch the replay folks.

We could try playing zone. As long as we are mixing it in from time to time, it could be beneficial.

Interesting. I was watching defense and I kept seeing them taking it straight at ALo when he was in the game and breaking him down like an old shotgun.
