I do not know anything about OK State's offense. Cisse was an excellent fit in Penny's offense because he was guaranteed at least 2 to 3 lobs or other easy buckets a game. Then he would typically get a few offensive rebounds and an easy put back or two. I thought he got a lot of use given his skill set and his only minutes restrictions were imposed on his doing with fouls and poor free throw shooting. I was really surprised when he transferred.
In 4 games Duren has made 18 free throws. Last year it took Cisse 22 games before he made 18 free throws. It took Duren 27 free throws. It took Cisse 58 tries.

Duren is the real deal. He will end up no worse than 2nd team All-American.

He has a very smooth stroke from the free throw line and appears to shoot them with great confidence. What an asset to have a big that you have confidence in to make free throws, especially late in games.

Never were
Only morons and Eddie Haskel thought there were any real comparisons to be made
Sheldon knew there was no comparison. Here are averages to date
Duren 15 points per game, 10.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 75% field goal percent, 4.8 blocks
Cisse 8.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 57.7% and 1.8 blocks. OSU has 4-1 record having lost to a 2-2 Oakland team in the process

He also gets fouled a lot.
I believe a lot of that has to do with the fact that he is comfortable and confident shooting free throws so he does not mind going up in traffic and he does not actively try to avoid contact and getting fouled.

I think I need to get through the Alabama and Tennessee games and see where he's at before I can say that. But he's already my favorite player on this team, and I really like a lot of the guys on this team.
And just to be clear: He's a significantly better basketball player in every phase of the game than Moussa Cisse (maybe they are comparable on defensive rebounds).
Senior Dorsey was a machine.
Dorsey's junior and senior seasons were very similar. He averaged 25 minutes a game, 62% from the field, 40% from free throw, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 turnover, 1 steal, 0 assists, 7.5 pts per game
Duren 2 games ( I know, I know) but Duren's 2 games, He averaged 25 minutes a game, 77% from the field, 71% from free throw, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 turnover, 0 steal, 1 assists, 12.5 pts per game
Dorsey was great. I loved Dorsey. There is absolutely no comparison between Duren and Dorsey.
If you are looking for players to compare Duren to, think Lorenzen Wright, William Bedford, David Vaughn...
Correct. Senior Dorsey was still a machine though. There's no attempt by me to even draw a comparison, just a comment.

Bates is the 2nd coming of Penny, and takes it to a whole new level, while Duren appears to be Bedford, Lee, and Dorsey all rolled into one ... Watching them play Saturday night from under the basket, you really appreciate their skill levels and intensity .... I get a sense that the whole team feeds off of that intensity .... This could be a very special season ...
Keith Lee is way above that group you have him listed with.
Keith was an unstoppable scorer. None of the others were that.
Must be someone that never saw Keith Lee play. He could score from anywhere, average double-digit rebounds and was a great shot blocker. Most guys would swat at the ball to block it. Lee would block and grab the ball and start the break.
First time I saw Keith Lee play is the early season exhibition and he went 10-10 from the field.
He would just catch the ball on the block and turn and shoot it.
He also had the Fargo strut which no one else in Tiger basketball history had.

Any body else notice the similarities in the body of Chandler Lawson adn Kieth Lee? Both have those long, long legs, long arms. I see Chandler and I think of Keith Lee.
