THE RUNDOWN
The Bearcats found their shooting touch against Alabama A&M (won 89-66) on Tuesday night, going 11-for-28 from deep after entering the night 11-for-43 the first two games. David DeJulius' 21 points in just 21 minutes led the way, his second 20-point UC performance. Forty-six percent of UC's points this season have come from its bench as well, highlighted by Mike Saunders Jr.'s 14 against AAMU. It was the sophomore's third double-figure scoring game, all since Feb. 28 (Memphis and SMU the other opponents).
UC added four more blocks, including two by Mason Madsen who had four in his career prior. The Bearcats also posted 40-plus rebounds for the third-straight game, their first-such occurrence since the start of 2017-18. UC has led at the half each contest as well, with the 52 points over the Tuesday's final period marking a season-high, shooting 55 percent and going 13-for-14 at the foul line (93 percent) in that frame.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Should Cincinnati win Thursday, Wes Miller would become the first UC coach to win his first four at the school since Tay Baker in 1965-66, which resulted in a Missouri Valley Conference title. One other notable element is the team committing just 28 turnovers so far, the fewest for a three-game stretch since the end of the 2018-19 season (25).
