When Cole was missing throws, he was overthrowing. His touch was a bit off.
Perhaps that shot in the head affected him a bit.

I can't complain too much as Cole has been incredible most of this season. Only 2 INTs (knock on wood)

Well, they won't be able to tell us that anymore. Good riddance.

I mostly have liked W&M and the fans are rational, all but those that turn everything into a SAT score competition.

I read their posts about JMU to the SBC and many turned salty

Hope they enjoy the CAA as the solo VA rep going forward...much better chance to get out of the fcs playoff first round now for the Tribe.

Anybody know which southern teams the CAA is calling or is the SoCan calling CAA teams?

And that’s it! I understand the rest of the CAA-CAA hates us but they should be happy to see us moving forward. Their teams are now no longer playing for second place and no longer have to keep up with the Jones’s as far as trying to raise the level of their programs, they can now fall back to being content with mediocrity.

Wow.. thinking back on yesterday at WM, and it feels like a loss. First, a loser game day experience all the way around by waste management, from only 2 port-a-potties for thousands of tailgaters, to the worst audio/visual system that is akin to a high school stadium, to sanctimonious fans yelling obscenities as we went through the campus, to concession lines 8 miles long, to zero entertainment during the game and half time, to dirty players- hate them worse than Richmond now. Can’t wait to be out of the CAA. My oldest daughter’s boyfriend (granted a Wisconsin grad) commented on the lack of band or halftime entertainment of any kind. Just a suck experience all the way around in regard to anything Waste Management.
Our team: been saying it all year and commented a few times on this board that something is just off. They don’t have “it”. I always assumed it was the qb lacking swagger or something, but he’s proven time and again he’s tough and doesn’t quit. So- I don’t know what it is. It’s an intrinsic thing. We can criticize and argue X’s and O’s and bemoan injuries- all fine and true. But it’s something else. Someone help me understand…maybe it’s the pressure caused by the conference move and hubub around that??

Maybe Cignetti wanted Ratke to get the NCAA records and that is why our red zone play calling has sucked? LOL!

RE: Week 11 - JMU @ W&M - 3:30p - Roll call and such
A couple of comments about Cole Johnson after yesterday’s game.

Marty O’Brien, The Daily Press. “Cole Johnson put Ratke in position for most of these kicks with yet another brilliant day”

From the William and Mary Board. “JMU does not look like the number 2 ranked team, basically Cole Johnson is their whole team. Sure he has two good receivers but it was their QB that won the game for him”.

Anyway. We are 9-1. If we beat Towson, We will get a bye and hopefully we improve on our running game in addition to slowing down the big plays we are giving up on Defense.

Again, when I travel for games I appreciate JMU that much more. We are extremely efficient in all aspects of the game day experience. Prime parking spots at WM left vacant, those actually there were very lame tailgates. Just arrived at the front gate and the Food Lion girl loaded me up with all her goodies, walk 5 feet to the security guard and he then threw the snack bars away because they sell food in the stadium and I wasn’t allowed to bring it in. OK, thanks! SMH. Go get a beer and try and walk back to my seat, nope you gotta drink that here, once again thanks; get to my seat and see several people drinking beers either bought there or probably snuck in through the gates. As for their concessions, their food truck was charging I think $18 for a pulled pork sandwich?!? WTF! Even the pro sports wouldn’t charge that much. I did find my way down to the opposite endzone by the cannon and that concession stand was really good, $5 burger and sausage sandwiches were great, but odd layout with one long line and then a small line to side just for cash. No band, referees mic didn’t work so you had no idea what he was saying and again the replay screen didn’t really show replays, just ads and that spinning graphic of WM. And for the “it”, you’re right, it’s lacking. Goodbye bush league CAA CAA.

Somebody on the Ol' Dirty board posted pics of all the SBC facilities. It is decent considering it came from Ol'Dirty

Take a look, it is not like walking through a SEC pic book but a lot better than the craptastic facilities we see when we travel CAAland

RE: Week 11 - JMU @ W&M - 3:30p - Roll call and such
I hadn't been to a JMU game in about two years. This JMU team isn't nearly as talented as the one from two years ago. Count me as a fan of Cole Johnson, who is somewhat polarizing on these boards, but held in high esteem by others on the outside. He missed a few throws yesterday and made a couple of bad throws into tight coverage, but also made some brilliant throws and is the single most indespensible player on this 9-1 team. He was under duress much of the time while passing and there was no consistent running game. He also took a dirty, brutal hit, of course. His receivers, I thought, didn't help him at times with several drops (thought I counted 4 or so, including one to Wells in the end zone that would have been a touchdown). Replays were often hard to find, though, and game looks different in person than on the screen.

I was astonished at the collapse of JMU's defense after dominating completely through roughly three quarters. Don't know if they became disinterested or W&M was able to get behind the JMU defense because so many were in the box, leading to three big plays for scores.

This team has answered the bell, winning on the road consistently throughout the season. They should finish at 10-1 with a bye and we'll see what happens going forward. The important thing is they usually find a way to win, even if it isn't in dominating fashion or always pretty.

Johnson led Wells with that throw right into coverage, had he caught it he would’ve been blown up, instead the alligator arms came out and the ball sailed by. A receiver often doesn’t know what coverage is around him and what he might be running into, but the QB (especially a 6th year D1 QB) is clearly looking at that whole area and shouldn’t be getting the receivers lit up.

You have to think they usually see 1/5th the size of tailgates with any other opponent. But still, they have to know the level that usually shows up when we play. It was ridiculous. That's why i just pee in between the shipping containers that have been in that lot the past decade.

Also, what was up with the amount of people hustling for money? I was hit up no less than 4 times.

Beautiful day, good tailgate atmosphere, nice crowd - with JMU well represented. You need to get the beer garden id & tickets taken care of early. They were overwhelmed by the crowd by the time the game was about to start.

We came away with a road-victory against a top-25 opponent, conference foe, and in-state rival. I was treated well and very much enjoyed my last visit to Zable with the Tribe hosting the Dukes. Sure, it is time to move on - but it has been nice to share a conference with the Tribe for many years. I suspect this team will become upper-echelon in the CAA if this is where they stay.
