Last game in Tampa for a long time?
UC has played USF every year since 2003 - odd years in Tampa & even years in Cincinnati. Will this be our last trip for Tampa for many, many years?

4-5 all time in Tampa:
2003: 7 point loss in double OT
2005: 15 point loss
2007: 5 point win over #18 USF - forced 8! turnovers, scored 38 in the first half & held on late
2009: #8 UC beats #21 USF by 17 - Tony Pike gets hurt in second half
2011: 3 point win
2013: 6 point loss - first game for UC after Ben Flick's funeral (died in car accident)
2015: 38 point loss - Tuberville ugh
2017: 30 point loss - #15 USF crushed Fickell's first team
2019: 3 point win - #17 UC gets 37 year field game at the gun to walk off with a win

Lots of close games - only comfortable win in 2009

Looks like we owe them for that 30 point beat down. Expecting a nail biter though with USF rushing for close to 300

USF v UH

Passing 22-46 289 yards 2TD 2 INT

Rushing 27 for 110 yards and 2TD

2 TD by KOR Battle 3 for 208 yards long 100

So do not kick to Battie.

You may not get to miss them at all if they end up in the Big12.

I had wondered that too as it was one of the few game times scheduled for a couple months now.

USF has played a difficult schedule but they have been bad and give up a ton of points. UC played awful against them at Nippert last year

I wouldn't pretend to understand, or even know about, the advanced models these oddsmakers utilize but I think all of us who have witnessed the past three weeks' regression on the field would be highly skeptical of that point spread.

Didn't Fickell say we'll be happy to win by a point--or was it 2 points? He almost predicted it for Saturday had Tulsa been awarded the TD and missed a 2 point conversion. And not to beat a dead horse, but I didn't like our chances in OT with the way Tulsa's rushing attack was almost completely imposing its will on our defense.

As others here have said, winning and remaining undefeated is everything. But Tampa hasn't always been hospitable to UC and without some change in the defensive scheme and a healthy Ford this would be a terrible place to end a historic two year regular season winning streak and catch the derision from contending P5 teams' fans believing their own chants about UC being "overrated".

Maybe UC needs one of those "Players only" meetings.

They need to get some swagger back.

They have some issues. The coordinators needs to make some adjustments. I'm concerned, because I'm not in love with either coordinator. The defense may need to reconsider the 3-3-5. It might not be the best fit for this personnel group. The offense needs to figure out what to do, when J. Ford is out.

Three games of no adjustment to the run tells you this won't be easy. May have to blow up everything you are trained/accustomed to do which adds risk in itself.

I fear OT also because of our FG kickers.

Wouldn't be surprised at all by this. USF and Memphis. Hope this isn't the last road trip to Tampa since the Bay area is my second home.

What reason would we have to ever return?

The Outback Bowl is SEC v B10
The Gasparilla is AAC v CUSA

A home/away with USF makes little sense as we go to Orlando every other year and will continue that in B12.
