If we win out and Sammy is undefeated, I think we should get a top 2 seed over them because their schedule is garbage. We've played several teams that were at least ranked when we played them.

Normally I'd agree but our SOS is only 8 better than their (52 to 60)

Additionally they are the reigning National Champions. No way if we both win out we are seeded higher. If we had remained undefeated - we would of had a shot.

I'd love

#1 NDSU
#2 SHSU
#3 JMU

Would allow us to reverse season ending games from the last two years.

Prolly the MVC crowd over at AGS slotted us lower.

3/4 seed is good with me if we can stay out of the Fargo tin can.

As I said, I understand that argument, although I think our history and league will get us the 3 seed over a 2 loss MVC team.

If Nova wins out, gets the CAA title and has the head-to-head win, I'm not sure the committee will favor us over them. I feel like with the scoring margins and extra FBS loss for them, it's a bit of a toss up right now.

If Nova drops a game, then I agree we are very likely a 3/4 seed, however if we win out *and* NDSU drops a game also, then it gets interesting.

I would love to see this develop:

#1 SHSU
#2 JMU
#3 NDSU

Bring NDSU to BFS for some sweet revenge on our way out the door ...

04-cheers The one thing I'm sad we won't ever get to experience is a home game versus NDSU. My favorite home regular season game in JMU history was the App State game. A home game versus NDSU would be just as electric.

Does the SWAC still do the celebration bowl? If not, does JMU have a chance to host Neon Deion and Jackson State in the playoffs ? Would love to serve him some humble pie

It's interesting at least one coach ranked JMU over NDSU in the coaches poll.

There's 27 voters, and we're only 23 votes behind NDSU so my logic says 1 or likely 2 placed us ahead of them - which I don't really get......

Yes - the Celebration Bowl is still happening.

Even if it wasn't, the SWAC typically stays out of the playoffs so that they can still play games (i.e. - Bayou Classic) after Thanksgiving.

If JMU can destroy Campbell, W&M, and TU, and SDSU beats NDSU decisively by multiple scores (its possible- In the Spring SDSU won 27-17 in the Fargodome), then its possible for JMU to jump NDSU. We'll see.

Reports are saying Isaiah Davis is back for SDSU so between him and Pierre strong they have arguably the best 2 headed monster at RB

W&M can really help us out by winning convincing against UD and UR. Candidly, I am surprised how little respect they've been given in the polls. They have a top 5 win and their only losses are UVA and @Maine. Maine is currently receiving votes in the poll. If they won those two and we take care of business, against them, that will give us a good road win against a team that should get at-large playoff consideration.

I'd LOVE this bracket.

Would love the opportunity to have NDSU in the Burg.

Would they have JMU play a conference mate their first game?

https://www.collegesportsmadness.com/fcs...acketology

Will the selection committee give remaining FCS preferential seeding? I don't think so....

Could they seed VU over us due to head to head? I don't think so....

Updated Polls. Top 10 and remaining games:

1. SHSU (8-0) (#25/- EKU (6-3), @ Abilene Christian (4-4))
2. JMU
3. Mt St (8-1/6-0) (Idaho (2-6), @ #9 Montana (7-2))
4/6. UCD (8-1/5-1) (#7/8 EWU, #12/18 Sac St (7-2)
4/7. SDSU (7-2/4-2) (@ #17/19 S Dakota (6-3), N Dakota (4-5))
5/6 NDSU (8-1/5-1) (@ YSU (2-6), #17/19 S Dakota)
5/10. KSU (8-1) (@ N Bama (2-7), Monmouth (6-3)
7/8 EWU (7-2/4-2) (@ #4/6 UCD, PSU (5-4))
8/11 VU (7-2/5-1) (SBU (4-5), @ UD (5-4)
9. Montana (7-2/4-2) (@ UNA (4-4), #3 MT St)
https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/f...aches-poll

-Maybe EKU will give SHSU a game.
-JMU needs Montana to beat Mt St on 11/13 in the Brawl of the Wild.
-I think UCD will lose at least 1 of their next 2.
-NDSU & SDSU still have challenges remaining.

I agree with you about possibly being behind Mont State. It would not shock me if a one loss NDSU was seeded over a one loss JMU.

Giving SHSU a loss early?

Ideally SHSU loses to EKU, MT ST loses to UM, UCD loses to Sac sht and NDSU loses to SDAK. Those are the 4 teams that could bump us from the top 3 and/or compete for a top seed.

Yeah lol. Fixed. They’re 8-0 with only 10 games.

RE: Fall 2021 Football Bracketology (Playoff Discussion)
Think it comes down to 11 teams for seeds. Big Sky will get 5 in, all of them have a chance at a seed, but 4 of them play each other. They probably get 3 seeded- remember a couple years ago they had 4 seeded. Also NDSU, KSU, amd ETSU all face ranked teams. Really impssible to figure out how the seeding is going to go, esp 5-8.

-MT St (9-1/7-0) (@ MT)
-Sac St (8-2/7-0) (@ UCD)
-EWU (8-2/5-2) (@ PSU (5-5))
-MT (8-2/5-2) (Mt St)
-UCD (8-2/5-2) (Sac St)

-JMU
-VU (8-2/6-1) (@ UD (5-5/3-4))

-SHSU (9-0/5-0) (@ Abileme Christian (4-5))

-NDSU (9-1/6-1) (S Dakota 7-3/5-2)

-KSU (9-1/6-0) (Monmouth 7–3/6-0)

-ETSU (9-1/6-1) (Mercer 7-2/6-1)

I still think if favorites hold serve (not sure if MT St will be favored @ Montana in the ‘Brawl of the Wild’) that top 4 will be:
1. SHSU
2. MT St
3. JMU
4. NDSU

On Sat every JMU fan should be saying ‘Go Grizz’..
