Yes, the fix will be in if UC doesn't make the initial field at least. They can do that right now to prevent an uprising of the rabble and squeeze the Bearcats out later in the cycle if they choose, using the strength of schedule rationale. Either way, I think many of the talking heads will continue to carry the water for an undefeated UC making the committee's job miserable--at it should be with a micro-playoff of four teams.

It doesn't say a damn thing other than EVERYONE wants the best path possible for their team. I think this team can play with anyone this year. I'd still rather play the teams that aren't as talented as Alabama/OSU.

Yeah, even OSU and Bama would rather play those teams in the first round than face each other first. It’s just common sense.

This is the problem I have with the CFP. Too often they put the "best" team in the playoff instead of the most deserving. They need to decide if the playoff should be between the four best/most talented/most dangerous teams, or the four most deserving teams based on the results of that football season.
Alabama is immensely talented and the most dangerous team in the country. They can still lose games obviously. If they lose two games by having an off night or a fluke circumstance they don't belong in the playoff. It doesn't mean they aren't the most talented and wouldn't be favored against the other teams in the CFP, it just means they lost games and don't deserve to play for a championship over a team like UC that may not have as much talent up and down the roster but has ran the table and deserves to play for the championship.
If we're going to put the four teams in that are the most dangerous because their roster is loaded with talent top to bottom, then Bama, OSU, and Georgia should already have their ticket punched and can mail it in for the remainder of the season until the playoff starts.
I'm of the mindset that I just want our program to crash the posh VIP country club party. I believe we can play with anybody in the country so who we play doesn't bother me or what path is best. I know that Big Fick and the staff will have our team ready to run through a brick wall and give whoever our absolute best shot. All the chips will be left on the field of play. Go Bearcats!!!

I get it but any of the other three teams will be tough outs. That's the point of only 4 teams out of a slew that get the call-up. Georgia, Bama, Ohio State/Michigan, et al. in a single elimination game. All I'm saying is let's get to the party first because one loss and we're out.

I would say it is amazing the way all the ESPN people talk from the same script, but I've seen the same thing from network news people for years.

This I agree with. ESPN has no legal requirement to be fair. Given that they are bound at the hip financially to the SEC and Texas, they do have a fiduciary responsibility to promote their business interests at the expense of business interests that are not completely aligned with them (B1G, PAC, B12). The only legal requirement of a modern corporation is to maximize profits and shareholder value, so it's naive to think that espn wouldn't promote the SEC over the B1G or Texas over Oklahoma. We've been in their pet G5 conference and haven't had to truly feel it, but we should all be expecting it when we move to the B12. What will be interesting is how it shakes out the rest of this year. Do we still get some AAC consideration (though that certainly wouldn't override any consideration for a second SEC team or Oklahoma now that they're moving to the plantation) or do they attempt to sabotage us since we're leaving.
As for Tebow, I never could stand that over hyped clown. I remember when they gave him the academic Heisman with zero justification. His SAT scores were 890, and he was a Home Economics major.
