We’ve struggled to get regional OOC opponents for years

Would like to play western division teams as frequently as possible so hopefully crossover games rotate every year. That way we play all western teams every 3/4 years instead of 6/7

100% agreement. USM had a great yearly series with Marshall interrupted by the 2012 realignment and we barely played ODU in anything.

I assume the Marshall will be in Boone as App has an OOC game in Huntington scheduled for 2022. Assuming current rotation stays the same, it should pretty sweet having Marshall, Coastal, Ga Southern, and ECU (and whichever ever crossover is there) all in Boone in the same year! Of course they could change it so the Va schools are on opposite home&home rotation which would necessitate App going to one of MU, CCU, or GaSo two years in a row.

ODU has a 10 year deal with Va Tech. 5 home 5 away. Starting next year in Norfolk

Off topic but… I assume the football championship game is played on campus but where is the SBC basketball tourney usually held?

That is a nice deal. I think they have similar deal that takes them to Lynchburg a few times. One thing I liked about VT is they always play their fellow in-state teams (sometimes to their determent as the have lost their last matchups with each of JMU, ODU, and that indie in Lynchburg IIRC, and were too close for comfort this year against the Richmond Spiders.

2023 OOC for JMU currently only has Bucknell and Morehead State so I assume one of those will be dropped and we'll see what else we can fill out the schedule with. JMU really made an effort to make a splash with some big games in the first year for the new basketball arena(some of which ended up falling victim to Covid), hopefully they can do the same for the first FBS season.

Through 2028 we have two games at UNC, one at Louisville, one at VT, and one at Liberty. Hoping at least one of those P5's can be renegotiated to a 2 for 1 and Liberty renegotiated to a home and home. Glad we aren't in a conference with Liberty but would enjoy smoking them regarly OOC.
