P6 - The six most powerful conferences
G4 - Group of 4. The group of 4 conferences with the lowest profile and lowest revenue.
CDOA - Conference Dead on Arrival (AKA Conference USA).

All in good fun of course, don't take offense. HaHa.

Again, welcome.

P6 was never a thing outside the AAC. And if you really want to know, I think that notion had died when three of the top 3 teams applied to leave for B12.

Excited to be here and ready to be P6! I feel like we bring a lot to the table. Yes, football has struggled but almost every other sport has won a CUSA title in the last two years. Basketball has won the last two CUSA championships! Football will be fixed once we give Littrell the boot. Our recruiting has been the top in CUSA over the last 3 seasons for football.

Rice Stadium renovation is an ongoing project… next phase details should be announced pretty soon. Capacity-wise we are good across the board.

Yall will beat Menphis to the Big 12.
Big XII is not taking 2 teams from Houston.

Bingo.

At some point even the SEC is going to look around at Vandy and Mizzou and SC and wonder why those teams get paid the same as Alabama.

Or maybe teams like tx A&M LSU and Arkansas realize the conference is too crowded with blue bloods and when everyone is a blue blood on your schedule, at the end of the year you have a bunch of 7-5 teams and fired head coaches who just won a national championship a couple years before.

And decide to leave so your team can be the Clemson of their conference or try to Notre Dame it

A lot can happen but at this point almost every team in college would jump ship from their current conference for the right rea$on.

The American can live on if these teams, looking at you SMU, realize sticking together until the right opportunity knocks is what’s best

P6 was never a thing outside the AAC. And if you really want to know, I think that notion had died when three of the top 3 teams applied to leave for B12.

the true meaning/purpose of p6 campaign was never actually about being a real "power" conference

it was about not accepting our place as 2nd class citizens, it was "we will invest like a power conference, we will recruit against power conference teamd and will compete with them in everything and win a lot of the times"

the p6 was always a thing outside the aac...before p6- the national media: "who is the best g5..aac or mwc" after the p6 started " they claim to be power conference how do they stack up"... it changed the narrative, it removed our association with the g5 and pushed us into tweeners reaching for the stars ...when is the last time you heard a g5 comparison on national tv? i havent in 5 years (before houston/ucf/cincy left) that change of narrative is the p6 happening "outside of the aac", even if they dont believe the aac is a power conference

and it also changed the culture, a culture that trickles all the way down to recruiting.. smus top basketball recuit called the aac a power 6 conference on his commitment day..almost every aac coach preaches it...

p6 campaign is almost certainly going to continue, actually becoming a power conference is dead but that never mattered... but its culutre will be used again to build programs and its narrative will be pushed again to not be associated with "g5"

fau is going to go to that high 3str Rb with a Miami offer and tell them they arent some mid-major g5 league where kids without big offers go, they are recruiting them to a big time p6 league, where you can achieve your dreams all the same as in miami , but with less depth competiton

No one outside the AAC ever considered the use of the P6 moniker. And when they did, it was almost always with an asterisk, explaining that it is what AAC wanted to be known. No one ever used P6.

you missed 100% of the point..
you think p6 only works if they believe it.. which was the exact opposite of my point, that even debating it is working... there is a conversation about the aac power claim in almost every aac game (There are close to 200 aac televised espn events a year) ..
even when they are debating against it is working (saying we fall short)...it's working because it means they arent debating us vs the g5..

again the goal wasnt aac = power conference.... the true goal= aac not g5, we arent 2nd tier

also both espn and cbs for the last 4 years has separated the aac and the rest of the g5 when making articles... they arent saying "power 6" but its goal is being achieved ..

i can link to 40-50 aac recruits with big-time offers reference power 6 on their commitment day or commitment interviews

lol not that that will convince you, I recognize your username you've been an aac hater for YEARS, i get it would be hard for you to switch gears

Please remember there are other sports besides football... You know the ones where we actually have access to the title game.

True. I like that map a lot.

Also thanks for the positive thread. We are all just fans and supporting our college. I'm thrilled if the move becomes official.

And like the current AAC members, I'd be hoping for a new basketball arena and trying to actually win in the sport soon. Would be long overdue

Our baseball has been competitive and is getting some improvements soon I believe. School has pumped tons of money into athletics and academic buildings recently. I'm guessing it continues

Thanks for the welcome.

Still absorbing all this. If the FAU administration feels this is the best move financially and for exposure I am all in. Truth be told I will miss playing WKU, MTSU, and FIU. Those are the teams we've had our longest history with.

FAU facilities are very good for football, Baseball just got a 1MM gift to upgrade its stadium so its going to get better, Basketball arena does need a lot of help. Its nice but very small. Just not a sport that has a lot of traction in S. Florida.

And, again, it is someone going to the AAC. Like I said, for everyone outside AAC it is an empty sound.

I am not AAC (or any conference) hater. I am a realist. You can call a carrot a potato, but it does not change the fact that it is a carrot (I do happen to like carrots)

But, you know, when we were making a move to C-USA from the Belt, FIU was the premier Florida school they were adding and we came along because another spot opened up and FIU spoke for us.
