RE: Dennis Dodd on Regionalization Pitch
Assumptions: MAC and MWC remain as-is; future XII expansion is yet to be announced. That leaves us with the AAC (8), CUSA (14), and SBC (10) plus 5 independents. That’s a total of 37 schools. The AAC will want no part of this and expand to 12 with Marshall, Rice, Southern Miss, and UAB. Army remains independent. That brings the remaining group down to 24. The SBC reorganizes as a Southern and Southwestern conference while CUSA reorganizes as a Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern conference. For non-football schools, Wichita St remains in the AAC but the Summit picks up Arkansas - Little Rock and Texas - Arlington.
