IIRC the odd seats are on one side and the even on the other. It's based on where the aisle is located.

Someone else did that back in the day with their basketball arena and it really ****** us up.

Remember you are a guest of the Corps of Cadets who are also a bunch of STEM/Engineers - do not question how they number something - they would have been told exactly how to do it from VMI - their step-father institution so to speak.

That means that General George Marshall or General Stonewall Jackson told them how to number seats and by God that's how seats are numbered. Yes sir. 04-cheers

I would encourage you to visit the memorial above the drill field - it's about mile down the hill from the football stadium.

Both Clemson and NC State also had a military component with State's going away first, and Clemson's much later. (When I say military, I mean other than ROTC).

RE: Lane stadium questions
When you enter your section, it should be odds to the left and evens to the right.

If you can't get a parking pass, you'll have to park at one of the local schools parking lots and bus your way in. There are some streets you can park on but you'd have to get there pretty early. I'd buy a parking pass if you can get one.

Can you catch a bus from Christiansburg? I would think you could go to the mall and catch one near the IHOP.

If not for the bus my Freshman year I never would've made it as far as C'burg.

I think so. I believe it's BTS Blacksburg transit services if you want to look it up.

This might be what you're looking for:

Two Town Trolley
The TTT route provides an hourly connection between the shopping district near the NRV mall in Christiansburg and Blacksburg. This route is an express service between the two towns. This means that the bus doesn’t stop at every stop it passes, but does make multiple stops in Christiansburg and Blacksburg.
(It looks like the maximum fare is $0.50 one way, but it doesn't stop at the stadium - it takes you to Squires).

Here are all of the BT schedules.

This is correct: odd on one side of the aisle and even on the other side.

The Inn at Virginia Tech parking lot sells parking for $20. You can tailgate there too. It is a fairly short walk to catch a shuttle...if the weather is good the walk is about 1.2 miles. This is not listed anywhere official but it is open for parking on game day. I think this in response to the huge construction project across W. Campus Drive.

The lot is labeled P66, click this

If you don't plan tailgating...parking at one of the schools listed is an option too

I had a subdural hematoma and a craniotomy on Thursday.

I didn't watch the game live for fear of raising my blood pressure.

Good call on my part. Even the replay was stressful, lol.

Prayers for you Terry D.! I haven't found the answer to old age yet. Like a vintage pickup truck our steering gets less precise, our vision gets stuck looking at high beams, and we tend to bump into things we easily avoided in the past. And to make matters worse we sometimes suffer leaky hydraulics. The cheaper antique tag just isn't salve enough for the greatly increased maintenance.

Sometimes it's seems staying washed and waxed just isn't enough.

You just mind your mechanic and keep it between the lines! I've grown fond of your obstinate and irascible self!

It is! The bad part is it is the reward for surviving all of the other stuff between birth and old age. The cruelest part of it is that being aware, intentionally avoiding stupid people, and a healthy immune system leave you if you make it that far. You lose the acuteness of sensory perception making it harder to remain aware, stupid people start taking care of you because smarter ones are doing something more rewarding, and your immune system says bye around 72 - 75 if you are lucky and around 62 if you aren't.

I suppose if the Old Testament Psalms were written today, the one saying "the span of our lives was 3 score and ten and if by reason or strength 4 score" would be amended to say, "and if you are lucky enough, smart enough, or strong enough to make it to 70 or 80 the rules change and the game is rigged".

So it's like "The Running Man", "Hunger Games", or "Squid Game" rolled into one. Enjoy the game 'cause you ain't getting out of it alive!
