Ridder would have to pass for nearly 400 yards per game over the next 10 to sniff Gino's record. Not likely. On the flip, he only needs to toss an average of 1.5 TD passes over the next 10 games to set the record. Doable. What's incredible for Rid is on the rushing side. Right now he has 1,897 career yards and wait for it...wait...24 rushing TD's. Combined with his passing numbers, that is some elite company for a college QB.
24 rushing TDs makes Ridder tied for #5 on UC's all-time list.

I realize this is a Wikipedia source, but this source is more up to date than the UC website.

RE: Guidugli vs Ridder
Tale of the Tape:
Gino: 56% completion, 1.6:1 TD/INT Ratio, 7.4 yards/att, 128.8 QB rating, 208 yards rushing
Desmond: 62% completion, 3.1:1 TD/INT Ratio, 7.7 yards/att, 143.8 QB rating, 1929 yards rushing
I don't think it's really even close based on stats. Des is clearly the better QB.
Gino's passing yardage numbers are just gawdy because he threw the ball 500 more times than Des due to Rick Minters pass-happy spread offense.

Ridder is clearly the best modern QB in program history based on stats (I don't consider Greg Cook or Brigg Owens as modern QBs). In my opinion there should probably be two guys from this team-time to be included in the Ring of Honor at Nippert (Ridder and Warren).

If Sauce gets All-American honors again this year, he's gotta be in the Ring of Honor.

Remind me - is there some sort of automatic criteria - ie. consensus first-team AA - for getting in?

There’s about 10-12 guys from 2007-present who should be up on that ROH. How does it not include Mardy Gilyard?

Unfortunately, they're now being measured against their peers rather than the past. And their peers are collectively far better than we've ever had.

Does Mardy really have a peer at Wide Receiver? The dude did everything and always in the biggest games. He returned kickoffs for TDs at Oklahoma, at West Virginia and at Pitt. He set the UC all purpose yards single game record against Oklahoma then broke in in 2009 against Pitt. I get that we're probably going to be more selective about what gets a player into the ROH, but Mardy not being there is silly.

There are several guys from the Minter era I think deserve mention- Brad Jackson and Antwan Peak among a couple others.
I get what you are saying though. Now you are looking at having to add Des, Mike Warren, Sauce, Forrest, Wiggins, etc.
