Ron Holland 2023 5-Star
https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/s...843871001/
https://247sports.com/player/ronald-holland-46102006/
from the CA article: "“One of the first things he (toppert) told me is he loves my love for the game,” Holland said. “I play hard. He also told me I have some things to work on. But the great thing about it is, he’s going to push me. I see that he sees something in me. I know he’s not going to let me fail.
“It makes me feel like Memphis is the place to be, honestly.”
Holland, who holds more than a dozen scholarship offers, including Oregon, Arkansas, UCLA and Houston, will be the latest five-star to visit Memphis.

Ronald Holland of Tipton County has a lot of sons around, including Ron Slay, who played basketball at Tennessee and our own Memphis basketball player, Rodney Carney.
Is the name of this recruit just a coincidence, or is there a family connection? Inquiring minds want to know.

this one, but it's funny you brought this up...
I thought the same thing when I saw the kid's name. In the high school state playoffs, we had to travel to Covington circa 1980. It was raining like hell, and this guy named Ronald Holland ran all over us. We all thought he would be playing in the NFL. He was that good.

I did not know this story, thanks for sharing.
Rodney Carney's dad is "Holland", but his uncle is "Carney"?
Seems to be a bit of a mess - at least at one time - but sounds like they make it work.

a kid can only take 5 officials. But a school can have as many as they have time for.

So this is what I was able to find...It does appear to be a hard limit of 12 for BBall

I guess that's why there are so many unofficial visits.
