The first two on the list are coaches we MIGHT have had a shot at, but even that is a stretch. Traylor was at Texas, SMU and Arkansas, so his ties to Texas are deep. Scott would have been considered a very solid hire, but he is 2-12 at USF.

IMO, the issues are across the board, not limited to Silverfield.

- Johns doesn't seem to be a great play caller
- McIntyre seems old school to me, probably not a great recruiter, stubborn in his ways
- IMO, we don't have a single running back that is above average, and none with breakaway speed
- IMO, the younger wide receivers aren't stepping up yet
- It all centers around Henigan not being ready, and not being able to make up for it by being a dual threat.

Everyone crapping on Silverfield for not having experience is crazy. He had been in coaching for 15 years, and was mentored here by Norvell for 4 years before being given the job. It is easily arguable that none of the other hires would have been appreciably better than him on paper, and there were reasons why all of them wouldn't have been as good of a hire.

The bottom line, is that aside from Austin and Dykes, we don't have very good offensive players yet. The minute Gainwell, Henderson, Coxie, and Pollard got on the field, everyone knew that they were going to be fantastic players. Maybe there are players like Gibson on the roster; players that are going to have huge breakouts.

Obviously, all of it falls on the coach. He is responsible for the assistants, and to be recruiting at such a high level and not see not enough playmakers emerge on either side of the ball, is worrisome.

Ike Hope's all u Dudes can do a reality check and realize we really only had one good game and that was a CUPCAKE.
We were lucky to beat arky state and miz state was a freak win. I hope u Dudes aren't drinking to much Blue Koolaid.
Ike will say outside of Nichols the games were very exciting and even the Nichols game made the high lights with the fighting in the stands.

Silverfield has enough experience to be a head coach, but obviously it is a work in progress. He isn't expected to know everything right away. Penny had no experience, but was qualified to be a coach at a major D1 program because of his experience in the NBA and his ability to recruit. He wasn't expected to know everything right away.

You aren't expected to know anything ever. Just a sad communist who holds everyone else to the highest standards, while having bottom of the barrel standards, who griping about having to pay $5 more for tickets at a brand new OCS.

IKE's watching liberty and uab,, liberty is winning and they would be undefeated had they beat Syracuse, lost by 3
Ike believes they were to be the cuse CUPCAKE
Notre dame probably thought Cincinnati would be a CUPCAKE, a nice surprise they got, but Cincinnati has been playing a tough OOC schedule for awhile.

anytime you let the players pick the head coach, it seems like a great idea but seldom ever works.

Lots of reasons for being a modest 3-2

A true freshman QB instead of a seasoned and bigger Arizona transfer is one of them

But Henigan makes some really good throws but his inexperience has shown, which is absolutely expected

Those above pointing out we are not Clemson are right. Dreams of being a Boise State which had what, ten consecutive years of ten wins or something like that are still out there, but tough. Need a win at Tulsa in a big way

And as to the original trolling in this thread, no to Freeze.

Ike hasn't a clue but, if u check our upcoming schedules we've got plenty and then the conference is a train wreck.
IKE's a pretty optimistic Dude but, if the A.D doesn't do something to upgrade our schedule we will be the CUPCAKE.
Fortunately the B.Ball program may be our backdoor to a decent conference.
Ike would be shocked if Silverfield isn't back next yr. However, if decent players start transferring it maybe to late.
TIGERNATION let's get this train back on the track and win out.

Assume that we would have had to be first on coaches that ended up at P5 schools to get them, and even many of them don't seem like great hires.

Replace the DC. If he doesn't do that, then we may need to consider more drastic measures. He has to do something....
