This is pretty cool. State and UNCW playing the 2nd half of a double header with the Fayetteville team

UNCW hockey has been pretty dang good.

Yep, it's between Wilmington and Hampstead. About a 10-15 minute drive from the UNCW campus.

As for the bold: Not really, no. Between Title IX and the resources we'd need to get it going, it's not a realistic possibility.

But we're all super proud of the team here in town, even though its been a while since I've made it to a game. Whenever they put up a GoFundMe for equipment or postseason tournament travel costs, I and many others consistently donate.

We would also need a D1 facility. The Ice House is perfect for this team, an ice skating rink for rec leagues.

Im going to try and take the family to this game in Fayetteville. I think we would all really enjoy it.

Just read they get about 1000 people a game.

That sounds insane to me because The Ice House doesn't have seats

I haven't been, but my daughter is a student at UNCW and she went about a month ago. Said it was a pretty insane atmosphere....

Whatever happened to Hampstead Fish Camp? We would always go when my cousins came to visit.

Back in the day, Pier 20 and Frasiers were staples for Calabash style but I digress. Btw…did the Hawks win against State?

They did get a last second win at Chapel Hill this weekend
