RE: ***Georgia Game thread***
I am very impressed with Georgia. They are easily the 2nd most talented team in the country. Their defense is everything advertised.

But that isn’t want impresses me.

Georgia of a different era would have taken this game off and slopped around. Still would have won handily but when I see them bringing the effort against UAB as if we were the Tide, that shows the culture they are building.

The play that impressed me most were not the bombs. It was a scramble by TJ that actually resulted in a first down. But he was run down by Georgia’s 340 lb all-world nose guard who ran down the line like he was a LB. The Dawg sideline went nuts. THAT is championship football. We need to see up close what it looks like, painful as it is, because next level football ain’t dumb PF’s 30 yards downfield or false starts for no reason or completely getting lost in the secondary like you have never covered a forward pass.

Yes I understand it is often negative exposure if we get embarrassed but how about DONT get embarrassed. Show up and be competitive. Hell Watson could do that. (Sometimes)
Well I think there should be a strategy to scheduling these types of opponents. We should start by playing the Miss States, Kentucky, and Vandy. Then after some success move up in the pecking order to the top pro programs.
I suspect we can't schedule those games because those programs are vulnerable.

Does Clark just have a mental block when it comes to these games?? I can’t imagine a worse record against top flight programs. Even Watson brown was light years ahead of Clark in these type of games - obviously not as good of a coach overall, I’m not opening that can of worms

I've been watching Clark and Grass coach for years. Same deal. Penalties that never get dealt with and cooking choking in the big games. Two peas in a pod. We traveled to both Tennessee and Florida and it was like they didn't even prepare.

Exactly. This Georgia team is probably better than any team Watson ever played. With that said, he did play some pretty good teams very close.

We are playing awful though.

At some point, the half assed recruiting and this HS offense needs to stop. Would we have beaten Illinois like UTSA last week? I doubt it.

If this is our most talented team ever we shouldn't be playing like this or losing like this. No one else will say so I will; Coach Clark has not figured out how to get his teams prepared for games against P5 programs. It's that simple.

Yep, it's a different beast to play against some overrated P5 team early that will ultimately lose 3-5 games for the year. They're still a good team, but not at this level.

This Georgia team looks like they're going to the championship.

Que the donors cause this is getting old.

You mean the donors who gave $50 million and will be paying Clark and Kennedy’s raise and any exit fees? You mean those donors who are gonna be asked to pay for a basketball facility, a baseball facility and more? Those donors who are gonna be asked to add $10 million to the operating budget?

Again, bench the players causing the false starts. This is ridiculous.

Evaluations are due @ the end of the season my guy not the second game. Yes, we look bad but this is a tall task...very tall task.
