If I am not mistaken, one of the criteria was # of wins 2015-2019, not win percentage. That would put UAB at a major disadvantage, with 2 missing seasons there.

And market share from 2011? UAB has almost doubled in student size and stature in a decade. That’s some yikes criteria

Hmmm…all I can say about that is Southern Miss must have a lot of social media followers. Toledo? Really?

They seem to go out of their way to include teams that shouldn't be in the conversation...

The only criteria I would exclude from the list is social media. Otherwise, I think the other four are valid.

Agree if it was current data and not decades old. Or taken into account win % instead of win count. That was my only point about the criteria

flawed and I don't believe that is the way the AAC is evaluating teams.

Flaws are found in everything, social media makes sure if it.

After someone brought up this point.

Quote: Note: UAB did not field a football team in 2015 or 2016, which hurt its numbers in home attendance and total wins. If I were to re-run the numbers with UAB’s average home attendance and number of wins from 2017–19 applied to a five-year span, UAB would jump all the way from No. 12 to No. 4.

It was a dumb decision to score as he did. UaB has achieved as much or more in 4 years than any team in conference has achieved in 6.

Dang, ahead of Navy. Get Navy in the AAC with us and I'm making the trips to see UAB at Annapolis and West Point.

Brett McMurphy@Brett_McMurphy

With upcoming moves w/in Group of 5 leagues, @SunBeltwill be aggressive in pursuing new members & could grow its membership from 10 to 12 schools, sources told @ActionNetworkHQ. Last year @SunBelt was only Group of 5 league w/2 ranked teams in top 15 of final @AP_Top25 poll.

From remaining CUSA?

I think they're waiting to see what the AAC does and will go after the strongest remaining members of CUSA.

MTSU, WKU, La Tech, and USM should all head to the Belt.

The message board jungle drums say that the commissioner of the Sun Belt was seen in Huntington. Rumor is Marshall east and SoMiss west.

If the Belt gets aggressive and steals a team or two and the AAC does too, what's left of C-USA is gonna be a well gnawed bone.

This could actually help UAB. Marshall wants less travel. The Belt could probably get Marshall, Buffalo, ODU and Charlotte. USM is a natural rival with USA and Troy. If C-USA implodes there wouldn’t be an exit fee for UAB.

If aac takes 2 or 3 from cusa, and the sun belt goes after 2, I think utep and UTSA would get pretty antsy to look for a lifeline from the mountain west.

UTSA should be in the mix for the Belt - heck, perhaps even the AAC if somehow Rice isn't interested (who seems to be a popular AAC call-up choice with the prognosticators over on the realignment board, along with us 03-phew) - the Runners have some good things in place, it appears - big market with no other teams around the general vicinity... not sure about their attendance, endowment, academic rankings, etc., tho...
