On to Wyoming. They’re better than Georgia Tech and much better coached…

Ference has been doing great. Nice to have that ability in the punting game.

Was at a concert last night checking the score periodically, then watched the last 5 minutes on my buddy's phone. Unbelievable win! Was fun getting texts from old alum friends I hadn't chatted with in a while. Proud as hell to be a Huskie. Can't wait for week 2 and looking forward to reading everyone's game analysis since I couldn't watch much.

That's hilarious. In the game thread when we went up 14-0 I said the GT fans heads are exploding. We now have visual and audio evidence the GT fans heads were and are exploding.

Spent about two hours enjoying the self-depracating flow on the GT fan board, and noted one compliment to NIU in hundreds of posts. That video guy and their board posts all kept repeating how they lost to an 0-6 team, they lost to an 0-6 team, over and over.
So ... NIU two previous seasons under Hammock: 5-13.
GT two previous seasons under Collins: 6-16 (two of those losses were to Temple and FCS The Citadel).
Hammock was right ... NIU was tougher, didn't quit right to the end.

Yep. And that coaching staff is D2 level, tops.
Biggest sh*tbag fanbase. D*ckless turds. Nerds.
Swallow our load and leave the $1 Million on the nightstand, b*tch.
All the GT boards showed zero respect and/or class up to the game.
Hope they learned a lesson. This game was no fluke. NIU came in to win, outcoached them and matched them in physicality.
All those recruiting stars mean nothing at game time.
Aaaaaand, NIU got $1million to humiliate them.
Hammock showed pose and class, and was certainly the better coach. I'm sure he'll have the team prepared for Wyoming. They won't be an easy team to beat.

Shoutout in ESPN.com weekly CFB recap

Cheers to ... Northern Illinois coach Thomas Hammock, who decided to go for two after his team scored late to pull within one of Georgia Tech: The gamble paid off, QB Rocky Lombardi connected with Tyrice Richie, NIU converted and held on to win 22-21 -- its first victory since Nov. 26, 2019. By rule, Georgia Tech coach Geoff Collins now has to surrender his Waffle House free coffee card to Hammock. The nearest location to NIU's campus is a mere 230 miles away. It's worth the drive.

Ya think those ESPN clowns will take NIU off of their Bottom 10 list now?
Fook those guys.

Much needed win for NIU football. Really impressed how the team persevered through adversity and kept the faith.

I saw a bunch of 0-6 comments too, and it just makes zero sense in college football. Before yesterday we were 0-0, now we are 1-0. Last season means nothing.

RE: **Official NIU at Georgia Tech Game Thread***
Interesting factoid;
Going into week 1, Sagarin has NIU at #79, GT at #82, essentially equal,
which is a good indicator of the final score. So much for the GT fans pre-game chest thumping.
Mac teams ranked higher: Turds #47, BSU, #48, WMU#52, Ohio #53,CMU, 66, Kent 67, Buffalo #70,EMU#74.
Bowling Green is at #163, lower than a lot of FCS teams.
Wyoming at 63.
How exactly does that work? If NIU, and the above listed MAC teams rank higher than GT, playing GT didn't help our SOS?
Then on the Predictor page it has NIU as the underdog, but GT only a 57% chance at a win. Interesting, but I don't know it works.

The GT board still hasn't moved on from NIU. They still don't have a Kennesaw State thread.
