I don't know how good the Whorns are. Right now at the half it's TexasU 14, ULaLa 6.
Louisiana is good. They proved that last season.
35-12 Texas with 12:24 to play.

We’re gonna need a bigger bandwagon.

Owls rushing progress under Bloomgren:
2018 - 3.8 ypc
2019 - 3.6 ypc
2020 - 2.8 ypc
2021 - 2.1 ypc
What’s that definition of insanity?
BLOOM - LET TUA CALL THE PLAYS!
HECK. LET ANYONE ELSE CALL THE PLAYS.

We will be lucky to be within 28 of UH and not because of poor defense. Dana will do everything he can to run up the score.

Nick Fanuzzi was the starter 2009-11. John Thomas Shepard was the primary backup QB as a senior in 2009 (Fanuzzi was a sophomore in 2009).

It doesn't matter who starts if the play calling remains so predictable.

Does Bloom ever let the OC call plays or does he get them through the headset and say screw it and make the call himself??

And he seems to be a really fine young man. He just doesn't have the skill set required to be a winning QB at this level. If he had speed we could try him somewhere else, but unfortunately that's one thing he lacks.

Put in a terrible spot, too. Staff didn't put him in the best position to succeed, regardless of performance.

This is college athletics and he’s getting a full scholarship. Not U-7 soccer. This Pollyanna attitude is part of the problem with Rice football, where we make excuses for players’ inadequacies because they are good people and tried hard. Green is a great kid, but that does not mean he is the guy going forward at QB.

I was thinking about this. I don't hate Green. I like him a lot as a player and a person. I appreciate his effort to go from being buried in the depth chart last year to almost winning the UAB game. I more take issue with the staff and the lack of transparency when declaring that both QBs would play. We had a winnable game in our hands, but the offense appeared to have been managed as if we were being blown out. We never saw if we had the capability to step on their necks with McCaffrey in the game. I guess the score finally met our expectations.
Really, I am very pleased with the fight those kids showed today. Based on talent and efforts, there are still many winnable games remaining on the schedule. My angst is directed towards the offense not putting Rice in a position to win; and that is on the staff. Wiley turned the ball over, but Wiley didn't lose the game for Rice today.

This is Blooms fault. he’s had plenty of time to groom a QB, we are on like eleven QBs under his coaching.

What exactly are you smoking? In the 4Q alone he had 3 picks (2 of which were inexcusable), one fumble (we recovered) and 3 runs for losses (he tripped over himself twice). The score was 17-17 at the 12 minute mark before the miscues began. Tell me again how Green did not lose the game for Rice? Sure, you can blame the coaches for keeping him in after his first-- and then second-- interceptions, but it is he who handed Arkansas the game on a silver platter.

Shep started early in that season. Remember the three headed....

A sequence I didn't get was when McCafferty was in and called his number on straight up run plays 2x in a row. Just looked awful

WR injuries are a concern going forward. Rozner and Pitre were knocked out today.
