Exclamation GameDay: FB vs. St. Francis (Pa)
The long wait is over. It's game day and I don't think St. Francis has a prayer of a chance.

https://emueagles.com/documents/2021/8/3...df?id=8760

ESPN says: Line: EMU -32.5 O/U: 54

We should do to St. Francis what UB did to Wagner.

I'll go EMU 42 St. Francis 14.

So what's this South End zone field club they're pitching with ticket sales? I splurged but I have no idea what it is.

It appears to be a tented area where there is food and drink, TV sets, etc.

As others have commented it may seem like a tailgate atmosphere but is it any way to watch a football game?

Will fans really be watching the game on our jumbotron?

I've seen schools (e.g., Howard back when Caylon Newton was the sensation as a frosh the year they upset UNLV) install temporary bleachers. Amazingly, Howard had over 12K in a stadium holding 9K.

Bleachers would at least give a little height and viewing angle. No word that EMU will have bleachers.

I know Wayne State has a tented area at field level where fans can mingle and buy food and drink. Not an area to watch a game from, though. This video does NOT show a game day but does show very good panoramas of the stadium and the green track surrounding the football field. The space between the field and stands looks much different during the game with 75 - 100 athletes, coaches, game personnel, etc. along the sidelines.

Well worth viewing if the subject of a track inside a FB stadium interests you.

I like the concept but not the upcharge. They should've simply moved the beer area from the Convo concourse to the field and let Arbor Brewing drive their truck into that area.

Will Arbor still have a stand so we can partake without going down to the field? I guess we'll find out tonight.

RE: GameDay: FB vs. St. Francis (Pa)
To extend the discussion on the South End Zone, if it seems popular this year, I'd do a survey (of those who bought tickets) and see if they would be interested in say 150 - 200 temporary bleacher seats. As I indicated above, I've seen it done (Howard 2017). Think they did BOTH end zones and put their band in one.

I would NOT do it unless I thought we could draw at least say 75 people to sit there. No sense wasting money on something which isn't popular with the fans.

Has anyone heard if CC is going to be doing his midweek coach's luncheons again this season?

I'll go with EMU 49-17. Should be a laugher with the defense losing a little discipline during garbage time. CC is too classy to really embarrass weaker opponents. So I guess I'm betting the over and St. Francis to keep it within 32.5

RE: GameDay: FB vs. St. Francis (Pa)
I don't see the score getting run up too high. If the Eagles are able to build up a healthy lead in the first half, I'd expect to see a good deal of 2's and 3's come in to get some game experience. That could change the complexion of the game with the Eagles 2's and 3's facing St. Francis first-stringers.

Then again CC may want to let the first-stringers and some of the 2's gel in game action, in which case the score could run up.

I'd bet on the first scenario, though.

Fired up! Looking forward to seeing the 2 QBs operate. Hoping the defense plays aggressively. Let's put them away early, set the tone.

Yeah the screen said "Your event is starting soon" but changed to "Your event is experience technical difficulties" hopefully they figured it out fast.

C.C. is fired up. BTW, he loves Bryson Cannon. I met Bryson when I was in Ypsi last month great guy. No doubt he is #2.

BTW, both QBs will play tonight... C.C. likes having two QBs.

Screw ESPN3. Sounds like Hamilton had a good first series. Great to hear.

7-0 Eastern! Evans with a TD run. Still not working on ESPN3, got it on WEMU though and they said it is a pretty good crowd.

Run game looks good so far! Hamilton and Boone both with 23 yards, Hutchinson with 14 and Evans with the 1 yard TD run.
