So why no West Virginia on that schedule? The WVa site still lists the game on Nov 30 @WVa

Probably an oversight. It is still on WVA schedule on their site in Morgantown

Wonder if we'll have any D1 non conference home games?

It's for hoops alumni only, right? That's how I read it on social media.

Any such program alums here? We'll need a full report. 03-wink

As an aside, today I saw in the monthly BU alumni association email, the trivia question was directed to (spoiler alert) a certain pilgrim on the Mayflower. How'd that slip by the "wokerati" out there? Won't BU at some point have to apologize for such a tacit endorsement of colonialism/imperialism/any other "ism"?

So if an interested season ticket holder went in through the back door, would it be an NCAA violation?

You know who would be a great D1 non conference home game for the Knights? Iona, coached by Rick Pitino. Surely Scotty and Rick have talked about it. Probably a chance for BU to get 5or 6 thousand in attendance. Probably alot of UofL fans who would be hostile to Iona

In a case of "great minds think alike," Moves, I've thought that too and wouldn't have been shocked to see Iona on this year's schedule. That would be fun, and I hope they do it at some point.

I can also see BU eventually playing whomever Richard Pitino is coaching -- I had to look it up, but it's New Mexico now.

Really great schedule, at least on the road. Of course a lack of home games is the norm for D1 schools in transition. Thanks to Loyola Marymount for being the only D1 to come to Freedom Hall.

As far as the D1 non-con schedule, there are some games that we'll have a decent chance of winning. Going 4-5 in the non-con D1 schedule would be a great achievment. 3-6 would be good.

Yes, the LMU home game is a nice surprise.

Interestingly, the full schedule that Scotty shared on Facebook on Thursday begins with a game against SIUE, location TBA. I suppose that could be some kind of scrimmage.

Hard to believe, but excited that, we're less than two months from some hot Knights action!

Listened to this podcast. Scotty said that there was still a chance that Bradshaw could return to Bellarmine.

Yeah, that was a surprise. He didn't mention Pedro by name, but I figured that was to whom he was referring.

If I'm remembering correctly, he made it sound like the possibility would be for the 2022-23 season.

He did not say next season, maybe he meant it, but he did not imply it or say it. Sitting out a year would be weird. Does not seem like something Scotty would do.

Interesting -- Bradshaw at least attended summer school at BU:
https://www.bgdailynews.com/community/an...6d662.html

I need to go back and listen closely to the portion of that podcast where Scotty appears to be talking about Pedro.

RE: 2021-22 Season
Time to start the season, so how about a little actual basketball talk.

From last season's performance and playing time, the expected starters are likely to be Penn, Claycomb, Fleming, who are 100% starting, and Thelan and Pfriem, who are probably starting.
I'd love to see DeVault starting which would mean that Scotty's seen improvement that warrants starting and playing more minutes. My biggest concern for this team is three point shooting defense and rebounding. I think improving three point defense is going to take a defensive philosophy change because I don't see a big improvement in personnel in that area. Rebounding flat out frightens me. Pfriem is the only guy who has shown a real proclivity to rebound. Freshman Curt Hopf could do himself a world of good in the minutes department if he shows himself to be a strong rebounder.

The offense will likely remain efficient, but they are going to need to find a way to shoot more 3's without lowering their percentage. This raises the spector of Ben Johnson getting serious minutes. A quick start for him would help his confidence and bode well for the rest of the season. Of course three point shooting concerns will weigh heavily in Devault's favor, you just can't have a big that is not a solid defender. Betz will be seeing plenty of minutes, hope he and Thelan can boost their offensive output.
