Looking forward to what should be a very interesting season. GCU and UVU both took big steps forward, especially UVU. NMSU lost 10 year Associate Head coach Keith Rubio to retirement, but managed to hire former University of Arizona (7 year) coach Greg Whitis.

I have not seen any schedules yet, but they should start rolling out soon.

In the thread where we talk about what scheduling looks like, I shared the SFA and Sam schedules. Both play in the Phoenix crossover with the top 3 WAC holdovers and the top 3 from the Texas schools (ACU is other).

Lamar's schedule is out. It includes two non-conference tournaments sponsored by Lamar and tournaments hosted by Houston Baptist and Southern Mississippi. The Cardinals also host a WAC pod with Seattle, Chicago State, and UTRGV.

The schedule is a mix of old and new. Out of 14 non-conference matches, 8 matches are with former conference mates. Those include:

- UL-Lafayette and Louisiana Tech (Southland, American South, and Sun Belt)
- Houston Baptist, McNeese, UL-Monroe, Northwestern State, Oral Roberts (Southland)
- Little Rock (Sun Belt)

Remaining non-conference game foes are Prairie View A&M (twice), Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Chattanooga, Eastern Kentucky, and Southern Mississippi.

For conference play, UTRGV continues the old and new theme in addition to the 3 other new WAC members moving from the Southland. One of UTRGV's predecessors, UTPA, was a conference mate in the American South as well as the Sun Belt conference.

It's weird not seeing NMSU, CBU, etc on the volleyball schedule.

Looks like we get to play Tarleton. Cant wait for that! Surprised we dont have more of you folks on the schedule.

Noticed this from the GCU release… anyone got insight? Is GCU and CBU (presumably) just committed to moving this around the next few years amongst the schools for some good OOC games..????

When you are a bad program as UTRGV has historically been, you just need to get some W’s to build momentum! Should we be viewing VB as a sport where the WAC can make some noise? It’s not high on my list even amongst women’s sports

Possibly, it all depends on the draw in the NCAA's. If you have never gone to watch a volleyball game, they are really a good time. Lots of movement, very athletic and easy to enjoy. I would encourage you to go and watch.
