RE: Some China News
What the problem with China and its preoccupation with Taiwan and its threatening posture towards them is just words. THEY know that any war with Taiwan will also bring dire consequences to them. Taiwan is a formidable military power on its own and will do some damage to the Chicomms even if they lost, it can't afford to start a war just a propaganda battle. A war with Taiwan could also encourage some Chinese to take sides. Who knows, but it coulld get very interesting if a war would happen and the Chicomms know it.

Im surprised Taiwan is not quietly working on building a nuke. That would pretty much end this. China would not move on them if they are a nuclear power.

China would have no qualms with making it a two minute war to send a message to the west. No other nuclear power would risk retaliation if they nuked Taiwan.

Take it for what it's worth, which isn't much:

Yeah I think some people greatly underestimate what China will or won't do. We are on a ledge and all it takes is a few gentle nudges and I don't think China would pass up on the right opportunity if it presents itself. If they believe the damage will be more to their enemies than to themselves, and if they believe they can more easily recover from the consequences than their enemies, they will.

Im fairly Confident that China will take Taiwan before Biden is out of office. The US won't intervene because it's a conflict we won't win. China will blitz Taiwan and we won't be able to stop it. Hell, they could put a naval blockade around Taiwan and starve them out.

RE: Some China News
I think we underestimate just how vital Taiwan has become to the world economy. Even the Demos and their mega-rich patrons like money. We have new vehicles and other things sitting and waiting for Taiwan to recover from the Covid Microchip backlog.

China wants to INTIMIDATE Taiwan back into China and haven't been able to because the US has guaranteed Taiwan's existence. China still fears a shooting war with the US and our Pacific allies because they won't win it. We can literally starve China's economy to death by sitting a fleet on the Straights of Malacca and turning every tanker to China back. China wants to "fear" Taiwan back into China with the US acquiescing due to disinterest.

I agree. What China wants from Taiwan they would destroy with an invasion. China is talking tough (and so is everyone else) because of who our current president is. These communist nations talk the talk but they rarely walk the walk because they don't want to die for their cause.

This might be the one (and only) time and place in which President Biden’s severe dementia has a faint silver lining.

With Barack Obama, the Red Chinese knew that they were dealing with a corrupt, lazy and inept weakling, one who could very easily and predictably be pushed around. President Biden likewise shares all those same shortcomings. But like a blind, deaf and confused dog, you still need to approach him much more cautiously in case he bites you out of pure confusion.

Obama is breathing a sigh of relief knowing that history will not judge him as the worst POTUS ever. That will ultimately go to Biden.

RE: Some China News
China’s New Ambassador To US Will Flex CCP Muscles

Quote:Qin Gang — China’s new ambassador to the United States — will reportedly assert the nation’s growing power during his tenure in Washington.

On Wednesday, a communication from Qin’s office demanded that China be treated with “equality” as a fellow influential power:

Both China and the United States are major countries with important influence in the world. Since we established diplomatic relations over 40 years ago, China-U.S. relations have gone through an extraordinary journey amidst twists and turns. At this new historical juncture, our two countries need to follow the trend of the times and the general expectation of the international community, treat each other with mutual respect and equality, and pursue peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, as this will be the blessing of our two peoples and the whole world. The Chinese people will never stop their quest for a better life.

The Communist Party of China and the Chinese government will never stop the endeavor to pursue happiness for the people. China is firmly committed to the path of peaceful development, and will continue to advance world peace, contribute to global development, and uphold international order. It will work with other countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The New York Times likewise reported that the appointment signals a counter to the Biden administration’s efforts to parry rising Chinese influence across the globe:

In his new role, Mr. Qin will be at the front of efforts by China’s top leader, Xi Jinping, to reshape China’s relationship with Washington, which has spiraled to its lowest point in decades. Beijing sees the Biden administration as continuing to challenge China’s rise, and it has pushed back against Washington’s efforts to rally democratic countries to its side.

Mr. Qin will most likely convey to Washington that Mr. Xi expects his country to be treated as a great power, reflecting a confidence that stems in part from China’s success in controlling the coronavirus epidemic.

Since his inauguration, President Joe Biden has faced criticism for projecting weakness on the world stage — opening a window for China to assert its own strength.

In March, Secretary of State Antony Blinken repeated his desire for a “rule-based international order” during a meeting with Chinese officials in Alaska. The diplomats told Blinken that the United States “does not have the qualification to say that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength” and that “whether judged by population scale or the trend of the world, the Western world does not represent the global public opinion.”

“They came to dictate,” explained China analyst Gordon Chang. “China’s arrogant and insecure leaders are at their most dangerous. Deterrence is failing. Biden’s most urgent task is to reestablish it.”

The Chinese Communist Party faces international criticism for holding members of the Uyghur ethnic minority in concentration camps, enacting a law that suppresses civil liberties in Hong Kong, and taking an aggressive posture toward the island nation of Taiwan, calling for its “complete unification” under the mainland’s rule.

Wouldnt need to. The retalitory attack---even if only a handful of Taiwanese nukes were left---would be devastating. Take out Bejing and 4 or 5 other major Chinese cities and that nation is done for several generations. I would seriously doubt a Party that took them down such a self destructive path would survive the hunger riots that would follow. That nation would be in divided chaos for as far as the eye can see.

The possibility of a good bloody nose is all that is needed to keep China at bay. And they know they could get one here. Their military is not as strong hardware wise as many think.

RE: Some China News
Xi Jinping Calls on China to ‘Make Preparations for Military Struggle’

Quote:Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged the country to prepare for a military conflict. The Chinese leader demanded more power and resources for the country’s armed forces, the People Liberation Army (PLA).

The PLA “must be placed in a more important position, and the consolidation of national defence and a strong military must be accelerated.” the Communist dictator declared on Friday. “We must persist in strengthening the overall planning of war and make preparations for military struggle,” he added.

Friday’s statement comes amid series of threatening remarks aimed at the United States and the West made by the Chinese leader since President Joe Biden took over the White House.

In early July, Xi threatened that China’s adversaries will “have their heads cracked and bleeding” in any future confrontation. They “will find themselves on a collision course with a great wall of steel forged by over 1.4 billion Chinese people,” he warned in a televised speech marking the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party.

The Hong Kong-based newspaper South China Morning Post reported the Chinese leader’s comments:

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for a greater focus on national defence and the military in a speech given on the eve of an important military anniversary and as the nation faces a growing range of security risks.

After giving a spirited speech on the achievements of China’s Communist Party during its centennial celebrations earlier this month, Xi said on Friday: “On the path of completely building a modern socialist country and realising the second centennial goal, national defence and the military must be placed in a more important position, and the consolidation of national defence and a strong military must be accelerated.

“We must persist in strengthening the overall planning of war and make preparations for military struggle.”

Xi’s comments on the military’s development were made two days before the PLA’s 94th anniversary and come at a time when China is facing heightened security risks.

These are not empty threats from a raving Maoist tyrant. Since President Donald Trump left office, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has come out even more openly about its plans for global domination. In February 2021, the CCP-run parliament unveiled the road map to overtake the U.S. economy in 15 years. The Chinese Communist grand plan includes sweeping modernization of its military by 2027, to coincide with PLA’s 100-year anniversary.

Under Xi Jinping’s watch, the Communist regime has come to possess the world’s largest navy in terms of ship numbers. Beijing “has the largest navy in the world, with an overall battle force of approximately 350 ships and submarines including over 130 major surface combatants,” the U.S. Defense Department’s 2020 military assessment said.

As China builds up its military might, it is also setting the stage for the next armed conflict. The CCP leadership makes no secret of its intention of annexing the neighboring island nation of Taiwan. In recent months, Chinese fighter jets have repeatedly invaded Taiwanese air space, as Beijing demands Taiwan accept “One China” policy, which will turn the independent country into a Chinese province.

“China’s Communist Party warns the West of ‘bloodshed'”
