They posted this on the SMU board on 247 and I thought there were a lot of interesting points in these rankings:
- Damn Tennessee lost a lot. Top two transfers in the portal transferred out of there.
- SMU gets 3 in the top 100, does the best of any G5 school.
- The concerns about the G5 losing talent to the P5 aren't unfounded. Count 13 of the top 50 doing that with only 3 going from P5 to G5, and the trend largely continues from there.
- Good news/bad news for an SMU fan - Memphis lost two transfers rated as high or higher than our top two coming in. They both went to TCU.
- DAMN Tennessee lost a lot. They lost another two players, 4 overall, in the top 21.
- Oklahoma, Georgia, Auburn, LSU and USC are all over the place. Lose a ton, gain a ton.
- Don't see any other G5 but SMU making any major impact in the portal outside of one transfer to BYU in the top 20. Only onesies and twosies outside of us from there out out.
- lol Lance Leopold robbed Buffalo walking out the door - looked it up. Walked out with 6 transfers from Buffalo, and I'm sure they weren't the backups on the team.
- HOLY DAMN Tennessee lost a lot. ANOTHER 3 arguably in the top 100. They pick up a couple of kids near the bottom of the top 150 to help soften the blow. Heck, you would have think Heupel could have brought a few kids to UT like Leopold to Kansas - didn't happen.
- Still talent out there that is uncommitted. We're past date for eligibility this season, and these kids are all top 150, so they may have messed up.
- TCU ends up bringing in 3 top 100 transfers and losing 3 top 150 transfers. Nice - somewhat evens out. Memphis loses 3 gains one.
- UCF took a hit and lost 3 in the top 50, but pick up the DE Big Cat Bryant and a WR from Notre Dame at 121 to help lesson the blow.
Aaaaaaanndd another one leaves Tennessee....
