Want to compare...
All Time Record?

I am working on another thread for all TV viewership, and quite frankly CUSA stacks up pretty well with the other conferences, and surprisingly, there's not much separation between the G5.

FOOTBALL SINCE 2005
Championships since 2005 TULSA 2 > MARSHALL 1
TULSA RECORD 108-90 even split MARSHALL RECORD 108-89
Weeks in AP Poll MARSHALL 16 > TULSA 10
Bowl games MARSHALL 7-2 > TULSA 6-4
NFL Draft Picks MARSHALL 10 > TULSA 7
2019 attendance (pre covid) MARSHALL 23,190 > TULSA 18,741

And yet for all that, you're not in a perceivably better conference.

Honestly, Marshall should have gotten in over Tulsa. I think it’s one of the things the AAC missed an opportunity on.

100 percent agree. Marshall should have been invited over TULSA.

Tulsa had more CUSA titles than MU so that's a hard no. Is Tulsa small, yes, do they have little fans, yes but the product on the field was better than MU at that point in time.

Thanks for noticing that we've won bowl games and been ranked, won in the NCAA Basketball Tournament, won a national championship, build $40 million in new facilities, had 100% of our football game inventory selected by the paid TV partners while in CUSA, so we're doing just fine.

-- Has anyone else noticed the pattern here?

Random AAC school fan comes in and talks smack using AAC talking points, Marshall compares school by school, that that fan shuts down.

Next random AAC school fan comes in and talks smack using AAC talking points, Marshall compares school by school, that that fan shuts down.

Then the next random AAC school fan comes in and talks smack using AAC talking points, Marshall compares school by school, that that fan shuts down.

That's happened like 5 times here. Even this Temple responses finally resorts to "well we're still in the AAC". Because the AAC talking point is all the ammo they think they have.

I'm a fan of a school, not a conference. Do I acknowledge top to bottom that the AAC is a stronger league? Collectively, yes. Do I think that means every program there better than us? Absolutely not.

If you do the weighted geo-center of Cincinnati, Temple, ECU, Memphis, Navy, USF and USF, it's basically like 12 feet from our 50 yard line. We have more historic success than virtually every school in that league (I acknowledge Navy football tradition, Cincinnati's basketball era of the 50's and 60's, and Memphis's basketball history). Our fan base would rival anyone on the football or basketball sides. We have a solid TV standing and a tradition of generating our own media revenues. We all know the only reason the AAC is stuck at 11 is because one must connect through Charlotte to get to Marshall from Houston and Orlando - and because we are the 71st media market despite our TV tradition.

So congrats on having AAC stats in your pocket. Beginning in 2 years, we all get to play by the same rules as the big conferences moving forward in football - just in time for Huff's new recruiting level to take effect. Perfect!

I agree. I think a playoff that includes all current conference champions is the only way to prevent further stratification.

The P4 needs to be shown that letting others have a shot helps their bottom line.

Continued expansion of the playoffs is a step in that direction.

The first NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was played in 1939.
It had eight teams.

The NCAA tournament field grew to 16 teams in 1951, doubled to 32 in 1975 and expanded to its current size of 64 teams in 1985.

Lolz
Marshall held every AAC teams pocket while in the same conference as them and has exactly zero on any school even using your own fans "facts"

Marshall fans losing on an individual school level is nothing new, but it's easy to see why they try and not talk conferences:

The only two AAC schools with out a NY6 bowl are ECU and USF

The CUSA schools with a NY6 bowl are..........

Guys, don't bother talking to that Tulsa fan he is literally living in la la land.

Bottom line none of us are where we want to be as programs. UCF hit that pinnacle, I'd like to see more of that going forward. Last year was a great year for teams on our level. We need to continue having a regular top 25 presence...

Winning our out of conference games is the first step, that is our biggest weakness we can control.
