I'm not diabetic because I'm not grossly overweight... ignoring that while this is a common quality of diabetic people, it is NOT one of the determinants of diabetes.

My point being that plenty of people have atypical symptoms of diseases... and that the internet will mostly focus on the typical symptoms... and the exceptions are so general and broad, they could apply to almost anything... (the meme of 'I'm either diabetic, pregnant or have ebola according to the internet'). As a result, 'consulting your physician' (even if that is WebMD) is still the best medical advice as opposed to simply 'following the crowd', even if the crowd is the CDC website.

EVEN THEIR 'best medical advice' does not trump (no pun intended) PERSONALIZED professional advice, tailored to your specific situation... and the CDC (free of political influences) would be the first to tell you that.

52,000 people work for Methodist. 170 is a rounding error. Probably mostly already otherwise disgruntled workers who see this as an opportunity/excuse. The same essential condition (including the exceptions) have held for the flu vaccine for years, and no lawsuit.

Hospital Acquired Infection is a HUGE potential liability for hospitals.

The flu vaccine is not a drug in clinical trials under a FDA special use allowance with no potential liability to the manufacturer.

I think it's more a placebo to calm the masses than anything.
