Having the stadium ready for Game 1 sounds a lot better than driving down to Montgomery. Best chance to get a home game on ESPN. Leave it on Wednesday, too.
Is that even possible, as Jacksonville state is being considered the home team in Montgomery?

*I know nothing*
No. The Jax State game is ESPN’s “college football kickoff” (or something like that) and typically includes an FCS school. It’s held in Montgomery, called the “Montgomery Kickoff”, and is the first game of the season.

Ni! not nee.
In order to fulfill their promise to the Knights of Ni, the party visits a small village, where Arthur and Bedivere ask an old crone where they can obtain a shrubbery. The woman questions them, and Arthur admits that it is for the Knights who say "Ni!", whereupon she refuses to cooperate. Arthur then threatens to say "Ni!" to the old woman unless she helps them, and when she still refuses, begins shouting "Ni!". Bedivere has trouble saying the sacred word, which he pronounces "Nu!" until Arthur demonstrates the correct technique. As the crone shrinks back from their combined assault, they are interrupted by Roger the Shrubber, who laments the lack of law and order that allows ruffians to say "Ni!" to an old woman. Arthur obtains a shrubbery from Roger, and brings it to the Knights of Ni.[1]

This is the very reason I have no interest in going to the Georgia game this fall. I went to the last two over there and I still have scars from the sunburn I received the last trip.
Athens is a cool college town and I recommend the trip to anyone but take the sunscreen and a hat!

I have been to three Bama vs UGA games at Sanford Stadium 1961, 63 and 65. The game in 61 was the hottest day I have ever survived. Sanford is in a valley between two ridges and no breeze came through that day. The concessions ran out of ice before half time and people were walking flats of sodas back to their sections guarding them against "soda rustlers" who were just as desperate for relief.
The only memory of 1963 involves the Bryant- Butts scandal which made Furman Bisher the most hated man in southern journalism.
1965 is remembered for the "toss back play" that gave UGA - and Vince Dooley - the first victory over the Tide for many years. The victory was so sweet for UGA that the radio scoreboard announcer after the game gave the score - GA 18 Bama 15 - between every other score reported that whole afternoon.

I was at the 65 game ( college freshman at the time) and relive that flea-flicker play in my mind at least once a year. A huge win for the young Georgia coach, Vince Dooley.

Auburn and UGA have one of the longest history of football games in the sport - especially in the south. They have also been very good at furnishing winning coaches to each other as well. When Fran Tarkenton played Bama , LOOK magazine had a photo of a blocking lineman who was identified as #60 Pat Dye. Vince Dooley had been one of Ralph Jordan's winning "X and Y system" QBs during his winning run which included a national championship year in 1957.
