That doesn't mean he will coach to then. It's just now rival coaches can't say - don't go to Alabama - Sabin is retiring in one or two years.

He'll coach until he wants to retire. This is all about optics

I had thought Dabo would be the next HC at Alabama. He may be quite content at Clemson. Anyone ever hear if he would consider the opportunity?

He's distant cousins with Lou Saban, who coached at Chowan College in North Carolina for two years in his early 80s. They were not good but he was there. So maybe this isn't the last contract for young buck Nick

This also extends him through Jimbo's ten year contract at A&M. This could force the Aggies to tack on a couple more years on that $7.5M/year deal, especially since Mullen was extended last week and is now paid more than Jimbo.

^This. That's not to say he won't stay that long, but I wouldn't be making any bets on the 2029 national championship just yet.
