Actually Louisville adopted Red and Black as its colors in 1913.

FOX College Hoops started a post of favorite teams by color and started with orange. Their picture had four teams featured but my Illinois Fighting Illini was not one of the four!

It's more insulting that CLEMSON was chosen over us!

I would have to go with either Alabama or Nebraska.

Blue: University of Kentucky

Orange: as much as I dislike the Vols, I have to admit that they wear the color Orange well.

Green: University of Oregon, hands down. UNT is an honorable mention though.

Gold: tie between Notre Dame and Georgia Tech.

Black: another tie between Texas Tech & Cincinnati

Maroon: Virginia Tech with Texas A & M not far behind.

When the Vols wear primarily orange ... hideous. However, UT has a primarily grey uniform with orange touches that looks very cool.

As noted, this is VERY subjective.

It should be noted that its hard to know what a teams "uniforms" look like anymore, or which is even "official" or primary because they don so many different looks.

I like standard uniforms. Make them look good, and just wear them, instead of a different one every week. Waste of money.

I like the uniforms to actually be the schools colors.

The Vols looked great

I think this version of a Cuse uni looks better. Syracuse looks so classic spelled in cursive

At least Illinois made the cut in FOX Sports' football poll. They had room for eight teams rather than four. To me it was just insulting to be left out of men's basketball even though we were kept in for football.

I like BGSU's, Wyoming's, and Virginia Tech's uniforms. Probably one of my more unpopular sports opinions.

NC State has an official red, white, and black. They also have a Reynolds Red (Woman's Basketball Arena) and Carmichael Aqua (Swimming and Dive Facility).

In the deep dark past, NC State red was a tomato red with a hint of orange (bleh). Alexander Julian's uncle and father had a place on Franklin Street (I have a handmade AJ tie) and between him and the marketing folks at UNC, they pushed the plethora of UNC Argyles, and complimentary blue. Women love this color and UNC was quick to figure this out and exploit it. Women also love navy so Duke sells well. Selling Red or Orange to women is tricky.

You can sell black. Selling greens, browns, and yellows is tough.

Red - I think the best reds are Georgia/OU/Ohio State, followed by Nebraska, Bama, and NC State
Maroon Red - FSU and TAMU are the best of a short bunch
Light Blue - UCLA and UNC hands down (UCLA is the best of all of these)
Dark Blue - Michigan, Duke, Navy, and ND are about equal to me. PSU (bleh)
Purple - I like purple and TCU has the most consistent followed by NW and Washington. Clemson's purple also looks good.
Yellow - LSU, just LSU
Green - Michigan State - I've never liked Oregon or Miami's green
Orange - This is a real taste test here. Syracuse has the best shade of Orange. Clemson and Tennessee are runner's up.
Gold - GT, Army, and WF use this for a primary uniform and I like it. When ND uses it looks good, and UCLA I think bleeds it into some schemes.
Brown - Brown is brown. Who has the best brown uniform using the worst color? VT and Wyoming in a tie.

Color and style these days really is to sell to a female market, even if that woman is buying for a male.

Not sure who else is even competing in that category.

Iowa.

Didn't even associate Cincinnati with black uniforms.

Other schools with Black as a primary color:
-Colorado (Black and Gold)
-Vanderbilt (Black and Gold)
-Oklahoma State (Black and Orange)
-Wake Forrest (Black and Yellow)
-Oregon State (Black and Orange)
-Texas Tech (Black and Red)
-Army (Black and Gold)

And that's not counting schools that occasionally play in black or might have a "blackout" uniform.

Had a friend in college who decided to coach all the black jersey teams on his NCAA football game.

He started at Idaho, went to Wake Forest, then Vanderbilt, and then Colorado. I think by that point he got bored though.

Also Purdue (black and gold). Their mascot (Purdue Pete) is a metalworker who builds boilers (i.e., Boilermaker), and their other mascot is a train. Black is their natural color given their history.

Louisville and Texas Tech technically have black as a color, but they rarely use it as the primary color. So I don't think they count in black. Especially Louisville, whose team is named after a red bird.

I think the black and yellow look hideous together. For all the teams that use it. Those colors clash.

Oregon State's black and orange looks sharp.

IMO, it depends on where you live. If you live near the ocean or a lake, you can expect to sell a lot of blue, IMO. Carolina Blue is probably a big seller because women equate it with having a baby boy. Any college team with pink as a primary color would be a huge seller among women, IMO. Now if you go more inland and south, where agriculture is dominant, like the state of Georgia or your team has a storied history like 'Bama, red is not a hard sell.
If you go northwest, to the states of Oregon and Washington, green is not a hard sell. Both of those states have very lush, green forests, therefore, green is in demand out there.

Yellow, purple, and green are in demand in state of Louisiana because those three colors are the principal colors of Mardi gras.

About half of Oregon and Washington are deserts. Spokane gets only 17 inches of rain a year. Even Seattle gets less rain than the national average (37 inches, vs national avg of 38).

Oregon and Washington also cut down many of their forests to build farms. Both states are only about 50% covered by trees.

The greenest forests in the country are in Appalachia and the Ohio Valley, from Maine to Tennessee and across to the Southern tip of IL.

IMO the greenest state is West Virginia. Maine is close, but the leaves aren't on the trees as long that far north.

I’m partial to GT’s color scheme. I wish they’d mix it up more. Reserve the dark jerseys for night home games and gold for day home games.

I liked the all white scheme they used in that horrific bowl game against Florida—those were sharp.
