“We’re not against Kamala Harris’s diplomatic visit, but rather her interference and blackmail in return for aid,” said members of the group Society In Action, according to El Faro English.

“We’re against their agenda of imposing the LGBTQ, pro-abortion ideology,” a member told El Faro. “In Guatemala we’re pro-life,”

You know it's bad when a third world country with massive corruption doesn't want her corrupt @ss down there pushing her agenda on them.

I'm in complete favor of making a one time amnesty deal... We'll take in the Guatemalan illegals and give them full citizenship in exchange for not allowing her to ever come back to the US. As long as we never have to see or hear of her again, it's a win-win.

RE: Guatemalans Protest VP Visit: ‘Kamala Go Home’
Quote:Vice President Kamala Harris traveled all the way to Guatemala to tell people not to come to the southern border. She issued a message to potential migrants considering making the trek in an attempt to gain entry into the United States: You will not succeed. However, as much as some might like to say “better late than never,” the expression rings hollow in this particular case.

During a joint press conference with Guatemala President Alejandro Giammattei on Monday, Harris said: “I want to emphasize that the goal of our work is to help Guatemalans find hope at home.”

The Vice President continued:

“At the same time, I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border: Do not come.”

Harris affirmed that the U.S. “will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border, adding, “And I believe if you come to our border, you will be turned back.”

This is how inept the Biden administration is, folks. The Vice President of the United States of America can’t even say definitively that migrants who attempt to cross the border will be turned back. The best she can muster is that she “believes” these folks will not make it into the country.

Who’s running this place, anyway?

When Harris arrived in Guatemala, she was greeted by a sea of Guatemalans who gave her a sincere invitation to go back to her country because they clearly did not want her there. RedState’s Nick Arama wrote:

When she landed in Guatemala, however, she was also met by protesters who didn’t seem on board with her claimed effort to want to “help” the region so that people wouldn’t be flooding illegally into the United States. The protesters included members of Society in Action, who said they were pro-life and anti-leftist agenda as well as members of the Veterans Association.

Giammattei declared that the country would create “returnee centers” where its citizens would be accepted after being sent home from the United States.

I am very proud that this is my first foreign trip as vice president,” Harris gushed. “It is a reflection of the priority that President Biden placed on this region.”

Harris and Giammattei have had at least one phone call prior to their Monday meeting. On Tuesday, the vice president is set to meet with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and will likely repeat her weak contention that migrants attempting to enter the United States might possibly/kinda/sorta be turned away – probably.

When President Joe Biden tapped Harris as border czar in March, they insisted that her role would be to address the “root causes” of the influx in migrants traveling to the southern border. She is supposedly going to accomplish this by trying to improve the countries from which the majority of these individuals come so that they will not be motivated to come to the U.S. It has been 76 days since her role was announced and she has yet to be seen anywhere close to anything resembling the border despite invitations from officials serving in border states. (See: Kamala Harris Plans to Get on Her Knees and Beg the U.N. to Handle the Border Crisis)

Moreover, the Biden administration has repeatedly attempted to deflect the blame for the current migrant crisis that the nation is experiencing. They have blamed everything from climate change to the Orange Man what is bad. Still, it is clear that Biden’s rhetoric over the past couple of years and the moves he made shortly after taking office were equivalent to turning on a green light while rolling out a red carpet and playing Gene Wilder’s “Pure Imagination.”
https://www.dailywire.com/news/vp-harris...n-policies

To make matters worse, it is also apparent that this administration has no real plan for securing the border and ensuring that people enter the country legally. At this point, it appears the nation will have to wait until a competent president is in office before we see a respite at the border.

WATCH: Kamala Harris Grilled At International Press Conference On Why She Has Not Gone To Border

Quote:Vice President Kamala Harris suggested during an international press conference in Guatemala on Monday that she will not visit the U.S.-Mexico border to see the Biden administration’s border crisis because doing so is a “grand gesture.”

“And then one more just because we’re going to Mexico tomorrow, Madam Vice President, there have been questions about why you and President Biden have yet to visit the border, the U.S. southern border and I’m wondering if you can answer some of those,” a reporter said to Harris at the press conference. “Republicans have charged that you’re not taking the situation there seriously.”

“So how do you respond to that criticism?” the reporter asked. “And when will that visit come?”

“On the issue of Republican’s political attacks, or criticism, or even concerns, the reason I’m here in Guatemala as my first trip as vice president of the United States, is because this is one of our highest priorities,” Harris claimed. “And I came here to be here on the ground, to speak with the leader of this nation, around what we can do in a way that is significant, is tangible, and has real results. And I will continue to be focused on that kind of work as opposed to grand gestures.”

WATCH:

Fox News reported:

Harris, who was tasked by President Biden to be his point person on the border crisis, has been criticized by Republicans for going 75 days without visiting the U.S. border with Mexico. The White House claimed that her mandate is to try and solve the border crisis at its root cause, and a visit to the border would do little to achieve that.

Harris’ detractors say her decision not to visit the border is a calculated one. If the situation does not improve and she comes up short on her highest-profile task, that would not bode well for her political future. But if she fails to score a diplomatic victory, the administration can easily place blame on another country.

April was the second-busiest month on record for unaccompanied children encountered at the border, which followed March’s all-time high.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel slammed Harris in a tweet earlier in the day, writing: “It’s been 75 days since Kamala Harris was named border czar. There’s been no press conference, no visit to the border, and the crisis is worse than ever.”

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) also slammed Harris over the issue on Monday, writing: “The Biden-Harris open border policies have created the worst humanitarian & national security crisis our border has seen in decades. After traveling to our Southern Border twice this year alone, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of the Biden-Harris Border Crisis.”

Mississippi Republican Governor Tate Reeves also called out Harris on the matter, writing: “. @POTUS policy shift led to #BidenBorderCrisis. 75 days ago @VP Kamala Harris was put in charge to fix it. Where is she today? Guatemala. A trip to a foreign land but ZERO visits to our southern border! Hard to fix anything when her priorities are not America’s priorities!”

she won't go to the US/Mexico border because, if she did so, it would give credence to the "conspiracy theory" that there's actually a problem.

BTW, did she take her loving, doting hubby? I mean, lots of Latin Lovers for Kumala in Guatemala

RE: Guatemalans Protest VP Visit: ‘Kamala Go Home’
Quote:Kamala Harris’ recent trip to Guatemala was an absolute disaster. The vice president was met with protesters and first tried blaming climate change for the recent border crisis even as the Guatemalan president blamed Joe Biden’s policies directly.

But it was Harris’s plea with Central and Southern Americans to “not come” that perked ears up. For once, it appeared the Biden administration was doing the right thing, albeit far too late to make a difference.

Even still, that was too much for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who went rhetorically weapons-free on Harris over her comments. This per Fox News.

This is truly one of those “let them fight” moments. Harris and her boss have directly caused the current border crisis. AOC and her viewpoints have also perpetuated it. There are no good guys here.

Yet, I will note just how alter-reality AOC’s views are. Yes, it’s “legal” to claim asylum at a port of entry. But it is an abusive loophole for people to stream across the border illegally, almost all of them not having a legitimate asylum claim, and then claiming asylum in order to game the system so they can stay until they are ordered to leave. The cartels who run these human trafficking rings understand that the system is overwhelmed and that once in, illegal crossers are basically in as long as they want to be. The rallying cry that “it’s legal to claim asylum” is misleading and ignores how the system is being destroyed by a never-ending wave of fraudulent claims.

Further, AOC’s claim that the United States is somehow solely responsible for what’s going on in Central America is just yet more America-hating nonsense. How exactly is the United States responsible for what’s going on in El Salvador or Guatemala? Is the assertion that the drug cartels and local gangs simply wouldn’t exist if Americans didn’t use drugs? Besides, that’s an argument for stronger border restrictions. Or is AOC claiming that the fall of communism in the latter 20th century in Central America is the problem here? You know, because Venezuela is doing so well.

No, this isn’t America’s fault. In fact, we’ve pumped tens of billions of dollars into these different countries over the last several decades. Further, Harris is right that these people need to stop coming. We can not handle the influx, most don’t have legitimate claims, and what’s happening now is not sustainable.

Color me slightly surprised that Harris ended up on the right side of an issue. Color me not surprised at all that AOC took the worst possible position.

RE: Guatemalans Protest VP Visit: ‘Kamala Go Home’
WATCH: Kamala Harris' Answer on Going to the Border Is So Bad Even NBC's Lester Holt Calls Her Out

Quote:NBC’s Lester Holt asked her the border question again in an interview that aired today. This time, not only does she blow it off, she claims, “We’ve been to the border” and he even has to bring her up short and tell her that, no, you haven’t been to the border.

“And I haven’t been to Europe,” Harris replies, cackling. “I don’t understand the point you’re making.”

Of course she doesn’t understand the point. That’s the problem. People are asking her to come, Democrats like Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) are asking the Biden/Harris people to come, saying they need to see this, because he and others at the border want this to be taken seriously. It’s clear Joe Biden and Kamala Harris not taking it seriously because they’re not making any changes to the policies that have precipitated the crisis. She’s not even willing to make one visit to the border to quiet that question, if not to actually do anything.

Harris wasn’t assigned to do anything about Europe. She was assigned to do something about the border. But until she actually understands/cares about the problem, she isn’t going to be able to do anything to address it.

That’s the bottom line of why she wouldn’t do it.

VP HUH (Heels Up Harris) is just a clueless fool. Climate change.....just DAMN.

HUH hasn't been to the southern border in 76 days since being named the Border Czar because she deems doing that is merely a "grand gesture". Most would say it is seeing the actual problem down there, speak to the local citizens that are being overrun by the illegal alien swarms as well as Border Patrol and CBP.

HUH should give us all a realistic "sense of hope" and resign. Even the Guatemalan President called out the Biden* Administration horrendous border policy for the current disaster.

RE: Guatemalans Protest VP Visit: ‘Kamala Go Home’
Quote:Vice President Kamala Harris is asking the chief executives of the world’s largest multinational corporations to invest in the country of Guatemala.

During a speech in Guatemala on Monday, Harris urged corporate executives to make investments in the region to help President Joe Biden’s administration drive down illegal immigration levels that have exploded since he took office.

“I will also continue to work with CEOs around the world to encourage investment in Guatemala. And, Mr. President, I look forward to working with you on that,” Harris said:

As I shared with you in Washington, D.C., I recently convened some of our biggest CEOs who have a profound interest, for many reasons, on supporting the work that happens here and the work that can happen here in Guatemala to, again, uplift folks who may have been overlooked or neglected, but also uplift the natural capacity and resources of this beautiful country. [Emphasis added]

Last month, Harris invited executives from Chobabi, Microsoft, Nespresso, Mastercard, and other corporations to ask them to invest in creating jobs in Central America.

Harris said:

Today, we are launching our call to action for businesses to invest in the Northern Triangle … I believe that the businesses, and particularly our private business sector, have a very significant role to play as we all know in creating jobs and promoting economic opportunity. [Emphasis added]

Today, close to 16 million Americans remain jobless in the U.S., but all want full-time jobs with high wages and competitive benefits. In addition, about 5.3 million Americans are underemployed but also want full-time work.

Despite being put in charge of managing the nation’s illegal immigration crisis — which began after President Joe Biden signed a series of executive orders gutting enforcement of federal immigration law — Harris has yet to visit the U.S.-Mexico border.

As Breitbart News reported this month, many Democrats have now joined Republican lawmakers in requesting that Harris visit the southern border.

In April, federal immigration officials encountered nearly 180,000 border crossers, an almost 945 percent increase in illegal immigration compared to the same time last year. The Biden administration is releasing tens of thousands of border crossers into the U.S. interior, putting them in hotels before flying them on commercial domestic flights into U.S. cities.

At the current pace, analysis projects 1.2 million illegal aliens to reach the U.S. this year.
