I am still curious if we see beach volleyball and/or bowling in the coming years.

It sounds like the Southland Bowling League (without a single Southland member in it - SFA & SHSU were founding members) will continue at least through 21-22.

The WAC has ACU, SFA, Grand Canyon in beach volleyball. I do suspect Sam Houston will add it at some point.

Can count NMSU out of adding Beach Volleyball. UNM dumped theirs a few years ago. If they don't have one, NMSU can't have one.

Independents out in the west include Boise State and San Jose State.

The three current WAC schools (GCU, ACU & SFA). Add in Boise State, San Jose State and get Sam Houston to start the sport... boom, six schools!

See, solving the world's problems...

Without a conference based qualification for the national tournament, there is no purpose in attempting to add members from all over to form a conference anyway. We already are meeting all minimums. We don't need any more sports, except probably mens track.

Adding men’s track potentially raises Title IX issues as schools will need to continue to balance scholarship opportunities for men and women. Few programs could add 12.6 men’s scholarships without creating a compliance issue. Maybe men’s track and beach volleyball.
