Where are they now - post playing career
We know Dermarr and Kyle W
Recently read Curtis Bostic Does strength training for the Bearcats but for other sports. Not Basketball. Never knew that.
Just read tonight that Kenny Satterfield is the new Hughes head coach.
For whatever reason, it seems like I don’t hear a lot about what the players end up doing. How did their college education (Many of them criminal justice degrees), Contacts, discipline from playing a D-1 sport prepare them.
Did they just get used by the system?
Did they take advantage of the opportunities given to them?
Rath said in Alabama the former players have jobs everywhere. I’d like to support them / give them business when possible if they’re out in the community.

Alex Meacham has had a bunch of guys on his podcast. Here is a quick list of guys that have been on since last Sept -
Cashmere Wright, Kenny Satterfield, Terry Nelson, Kevin Johnson, Brad Jackson, John Williamson, Steve Sanders, Kyle Washington, Art Long, Dontonio Wingfield, Damon Flint, Herb Jones, Levertis Robinson and Andre Tate
He interviewed Huggins on the June 5th episode
and then on the June 12th episode he discussed the former player interviews he has done to that point.

Correct.
I don’t know if they ever get any top players, but will be following.

That’s a bit harsh.
Being a walk-on who rarely played for an annual top-10 program at the time only means he wasn’t a high level div I starter material.
His father worked for UC so he could walk on and still receive free tuition at UC.
I bet he could have played and excelled at some smaller programs if he had chose to.

Agree 100%... Meacham was more than serviceable as a player.

I almost purchased a new car a couple of weeks ago out on rt.4-- Jaquan Parker was in sales there, he was very classy and knowledgeable--- just liked a different make of car a little better.

If I lived in Cincinnati, I'd love to buy a car from JaQuon. I'm not willing to travel that far to buy one though haha... Hope he's making good money there. A good car salesman at the right dealership can make a really nice living.

Yeah, he was on the staff for at least 2 years... maybe 3 or 4. Would love to have him back on staff, but perhaps he isn't interested in pursuing coaching. That profession is a grind that I know I wouldn't survive personally.

Yeah I was wondering why he wasn’t still in coaching.

He probably makes more as a sales associate at a car dealership than he does in a down-bench coaching role honestly.

I would think Mick would have been open to having him come to UCLA in a support role, but maybe that wasn't appealing to him. Or, maybe it was never offered. I thought he was going to stick with coaching, but you're probably right that he's making more money now.
