UNOFFICAL 2021 Football Transfer Thread
The first started well but went off the tracks.

Can we roll up into one thread all of the players who have transferred from or transferred to EMU since the end of the 2020 season. May wish to add those who dropped out with unknown destination (including some who may be giving up the game).

This is like NFL free agency: Gain some and also lose some. Have to determine the NET effect, esp. at a particular position such as WR and DB where there were a number of moves.

I'll start with: Ben Bryant QB Cincy. (transfer in). Major addition giving EMU two very solid MAC caliber QBs.

Loss: The grad transfer QB from So. Utah who is apparently gone.
Also lose a back-up who hasn't seen PT in recent years, Stiebeling.

Next... (WR or DB, anyone?):

And this is where our new transfers will train:

RE: UNOFFICAL 2021 Football Transfer Thread
Our friend, Alex, has provided a lot of material for this thread.

https://macfootballblog.com/2021/02/23/2...s-updates/

BTW, I think he missed a OT from St. Francis whom we noted in our FB recruiting thread and DB from Bucknell.

https://bucknellbison.com/sports/footbal...enson/6134

https://sfuathletics.com/sports/football...awrot/8744

FBS is a fairly big step up from the lesser FCS conferences, but if a player can play, he can play. Cody was all-conference as a frosh. Brandon was all-conference this spring at Bucknell.

Between Boone, Evans, Bess, the others and now Hamilton... we now have a STACKED running back stable. There's going to be some serious competition in that group!

I don't want to sound disrespectful, but the players CC are getting via the transfer route are better than those who left (via the transfer route).

This is Jawon's 2019 statistics. Remember that the top of FCS is very, very good. JMU would be a good MAC team. Everyone knows about schools like NDSU (N. Dakota State U). Well JMU is up there with them.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/te...s/_/id/256

Testing my memory, a little, but I thought JMU had the FCS national title wrapped up until Sam Houston State rallied to win it.

This week has been "Christmas" in May for EMU FB.

I'm going to move EMU to my pre-season MAC West favorite. What a job bolstering a very good offense!!! 04-bow

True I would take Paul over Kelly Hamilton over Mackey I don't know about the two transfer wrs being better than Williams but they are probably better than Grissom

So you're predicting a 6-2 MAC record? And A 9-3 record? That should be the goal minimum 5-3 and 8-4! If CC guides this team to another 6-6 record..........Can he finally turn the corner? People seem to be finally agreeing with me!

RE: UNOFFICAL 2021 Football Transfer Thread
Or '79 this is how I would do it:

List the top 5 players who committed to EMU OR are transferring from EMU.

In alphabetical order (to be nice): Bryant (IN), Hamilton (IN), Paul (IN), Smith (IN) and Williams (OUT),

Four of the five best players coming to EMU or leaving EMU, are transfers in. That is a big net gain for EMU.

My guess is that this is our best chance to go 8 - 4 or 9 - 3 in decades.

The depth on the offensive side of the ball is amazing for a MAC team. I can not find a hole on offense. We filled the WR hole and added a big time RB to help out.

Lot of different styles, too.

Evans is 'inside the tackles', Hamilton - outside the tackles. And so on...

Check out the run between 5:30 and 6:00 on this JMU / N. Dakota game.

Let's not forget we are probably not done at DT more likely or DE. I would expect us to add at least one more.

FBS is a fairly big step up from the lesser FCS conferences, but if a player can play, he can play. Cody was all-conference as a frosh. Brandon was all-conference this spring at Bucknell.
On that MAC list it's easy to see that many more kids have the transferred out then transferred in. It's likely that way across the country. The bottom line is that many kids have screwed themselves out of a roster spot on a D1 team and are scrambling to find a home at any level this fall.

Yes, and as many of us had warned. This is a game of musical chairs and some may not have a chair.

The big losers, also, are high school seniors and JUCOs. It is a no brainer for CC to take the caliber players we are getting rather than go fishing for JUCOs or H.S. players.

I don't know if we are done, but I bet someone could find another dozen or two dozen players who could help us. Just name your position and enjoy with the bonus year and free transfer.

Huge. I thought our running game was average at best when Boone wasn’t playing. Hamilton will give us a much stronger 1-2 punch, and hopefully save Boone the pounding of feature back carries.

I believe of the guys who have left, only Flowers has found a home.

Grissom, Q.Williams, Mackey, Luft, D. Jackson, Simpson, Vines all still searching.

I'm surprised that Q. Williams hasn't found a new home. He should be a top G5 target.

And I'm wondering about transfers to FCS. Lot of teams in those conferences could use these guys.

Absolutely agree with that. I think Paul will be VERY good. I'm gushing over this dude and his ability to find the ball. Mackey and Grissom couldnt see the field and these guys look like immediate contributors. Love seeing the guys being brought in. Also add in the QB and the O-lineman and last yr's add of Dmitri from MSU and look out. Hope I'm not being too much of a slappy, but this roster is getting stacked. 8 wins is looking likely.

I keep saying these guys are accepting "division 1 offers" from FCS schools. It is what it is. I'm not saying some of these guys (Quian and Jairus and Vines) dont have real reasons for leaving, but with the team they have coming back, I'm not sure what the draw is to leave. I do agree that I am shocked Quian hasnt been picked up and looks like the only offers he has is FCS. Maybe there is something more we dont know. He was SUPER talented and I thought could have been special with Preston. Looks like the guys we have replacing them are better anyways.

now my question will be when hamilton rips off a big run or scores touch downs - will the hot take artists on this page who decry that 'transfers are ruining the sacred game of college football' cheer?
