Post two. Then you went loopy. Post 8 and 10 drove you ballistic.
While you were getting all defensive, the rest of us were discussing the project.

RE: Centennial Mall Project Begins
The campus has changed so much since I first set foot on campus in August 1971. Two year ago my brother-in-law, a BGSUcks grad came to town for a visit and asked to see UT. We took him in on Bancroft St and he was amazed! He could not believe what he saw. He compared it to an Ivey league campus (he's been on 3 for work) and said it makes BG look so plain and impersonal. We have a great campus and I'm glad to see the upgrades.

When have you discussed the project? (note I have made other posts and replies regarding the mall project, where are yours??).
I am not upset, defensive or ballistic, just wondering if you plan on making a contribution to this discussion or only aim to to belittle and insult? Which given your history on these board (you are the only poster who looks to intentionally antagonize others and have been called out for it numerous times) is really not surprising.
ps last renovation of SM was 2010-apparently you found it funny that I actually corrected you based on fact

Since I work at UT and served on the committee that oversees construction projects on main campus, guessing I know a lot more than you about SM renovations-where do you work again? what is your connection to UT besides following Athletics and reading stories in the Blade? You know nothing about how UT operates, planning, construction, budgets etc..
Paul,
We all appreciate what you do everyday to make UT a better place.
Thank you!

Post 7, 17 and 27, every ten posts.
You WANT to believe I was laughing at a "fact." I wasn't.
MOST with some level of social skills recognize my original statement wasn't intended as a statement of "fact." It was an adverbial phrase, used for hyperbole.

Thanks, and I certainly appreciate all the valuable insights on UT CFB, MBB and WBB that many posters provide here regularly, great that people share their knowledge and experience by answering questions when posed and starting topics or contributing information.

What's the extent of that property? Does it include the field to the west and the solar field (I see on google map)?

yes, its a huge property, basically road access off Dorr and the one off Richards, plus the two large building and surrounding lands and parking lot, the agreement with the donation was that WellTower would continue to occupy the front building if and when they were to leave, UT Foundation and Alumni office occupies back building
(Inverness actually owns the open field on north side of Dorr across from their property)

RE: Centennial Mall Project Begins
I live right across the street from UT and frequently go to the student union for lunch on weekends (Chick-Fil-A, etc.) and I know the walkway condition situation is not good (rises and major cracks) so improvement in that area is much needed. The grassy areas are also very poorly drained and swampy. I don't know if this is being addressed but should be. I love the UT campus and chose to live next door (Indian/Secor/Bancroft) to enjoy the campus and be close by for games (walk to games and concerts, etc.). Very happy that Centennial Mall is being upgraded. It is a major plus feature for UT.
Go Rockets!

Always thought that selling the ten acre parcel on Dorr (at Richards?) was a big mistake. A perfect parcel in a great location that could house an indoor track or hockey facility. You won't find one like that again.

The UT Foundation donated that entire lot to the village of Ottawa Hills, who are in the process of building athletic fields for its community members.
I'm glad something is finally being done with that land. It'll look really nice when completed, but I agree that UT should've built an athletic stadium on that land.
