Lance Leipold to Kansas
Great hire by them, he's exactly what they need. A real no-nonsense guy after years of nonsense.

Agree. They hired a good coach. Miles could recruit and they have some talent there. Wonder if and players will follow bhim to Kansas.

If I were him I would not have taken that coaches graveyard of a job and waited for a better opportunity. But good luck to him.

That school churns through coaches, I’m not sure why.

MAC $ vs. P5 $ made that an easy decision. Plus, he got a six year contract from Kansas, which will take him to age 62. Leipold is an older guy (age 56), so he probably felt he needed to take somebody’s money pretty soon, or, it would become too late.

Exactly, he's 56...had to take it. I believe he will do well, tough job.

What are you talking about? Absolutely no one said he was done at 56. He got a six year contract, which will take to age 62. At the P5 level, there is virtually no demand for sixty year old G5 coaches. He made a very solid financial decision.

Six year contract because they had to offer that for anyone to accept such an awful job. If he makes it past year 2 though it should be considered a success since 2-3 years is the average Kansas football coach career.

Read the Bulls fan forum. A few wish him luck, but many are po'd about him leaving at this time of year, right after spring practice ended and after making a pitch for donations to their fund-raising campaign. An assistant, Rob Ianello, was named interim. Footnote BTW ... Ianello's wife Denise (nee Dove) is an NIU Hall of Famer and former star WBB pg (during the Jane Albright years). Official Buffalo AD statement said they expect to name a new HC in 10 days or so.

Yes, there is no doubt that you are done. I would even go as far as saying you were done a few years ago. Then again, I am quite a bit older than you, so I am very well done and at the point of being burnt to a crisp. I’m even starting to see my ashes!

I’m really pissed that Mark Montgomery has not been offered a high profile job. All they need to do is contact STF for a glowing recommendation soaked with STF’s tears over the fact that Monty will no longer grace the Convo.

RE: Lance Leipold to Kansas
Seems to be a good choice for their program. Seems to be a solid football guy, has good character and I got the impression from watching his teams that he builds them from the trenches. That's one reason I was glad to see Coach Agpalsa join us. I was impressed with the OL he built there. Just looked at the Kansas roster and there seems to be some good recruits there. It will take a few years to change the culture, but maybe a no-nonsense guy like Leipold can do it this time.
On a side note, this is not the first time Kansas has tapped the MAC for a head coach. Not even the first time they snagged a Buffalo head coach. They got Turner Gill after he turned around the Buffalo program, and going back quick a while there was Glen Mason from Kent State.

Reports that interim HC Ianello along with 6 others will be joining Leopoldo in Kansas.
I’d be p*ssed off too if I was the Buffalo fan base. It’s May for gawdz sake.

If I was a head coach/athletic director, I would want no part of anyone that was involved with the Cowboys defense last year lol
