Verbal Commits lists him as transferring out of UAF. He is a 6'8" freshman who played about a minute or two all year. Must be a walk-on. I guess walk-ons have to announce they are transferring. Originally from Katy, Tx.

TJ Berger is transferring from Georgetown. Freshman who averaged 4.7 minutes in the 15 games he played. Out of high school had a bunch of mostly mid to low major offers. Just mentioning this since Darrell is friends with Patrick Ewing. No idea if he would steer a kid this way. I also have no idea if a bench warmer at Georgetown could be a significant contributor here. I guess Ben Coupet, a bench warmer at UNLV, did fine after coming to LR. Georgetown hasn't been great in quite awhile, but they are probably a little higher in the pecking order than UNLV.

I figure anyone who survived being stared down by Big Patrick is bound to have some toughness. That guy has an intimidating look.

No doubt- I wouldn't want to mess with Patrick. If the kid is leaving, on good terms, it's certainly possible that Patrick might talk to Darrell about him. In the past, I would think that is how most transfers happened. Now with the portal, it is much more of a free for all.
