Yep... we have not had a decent PA announcer since Fred Cook retired. I come to watch the game, not be entertained by the PA announcer or the amateurish “hype guy”. It makes the entire production come across as bush league.

I am wondering about what the coaches and players think about the PA announcer. Maybe it intimidates the visiting team? Not sure but seems like they would be objecting to it if they did not like it. Anyone have any feedback from the team and coaches?

I can guarantee you there is nothing less the players care about, especially visiting ones, than the PA guy.

It's not the announcer. It is the hype guy down on the field with the mic in his hand.

The band is in my estimation, more impactful to the players on the field than the "hype guy". I don't think they even hear the hype guy. The band however is music, which is both subliminal and rote memory.

Besides, I'm not talking about what is enjoyable or not to the players. I'm talking about what is pleasing or not to the fans. You know... the ones who pay for everything with their ticket purchases and TSF donations?

And that hype guy needs to stop with the particular melody in his voice when he says everything he says. It is like nails on a chalkboard.
