I know that I have hypothesized about this in other threads, but I will raise the question again. As it stands right now, we will have the fully allotted 13 scholarship players on our 2021-22 roster. Three of these players, Blair, Harvey, and Scott, would have been Seniors next year but will have Junior eligibility because of the Covid exemption. If any of these players, along with Coach Fischer, have already decided that they will be coming back for the 2022-23 season, won't their place on the 2022-23 roster count against our 13 scholarship limit and, by default, impact our recruitment of 2022 high school seniors.

Got to believe that Fischer and the kids above really have to have serious conversations about this now.

My gut says that W&M will honor their commitment for 4 years for their players (or 5 years for a redshirt). I do not think an extra bonus year is on the table here for any player and It is to be seen if other schools provide it. I'm doubtful because, like you said, the 13 scholarship limit is still in place and it limits the recruiting for future classes. I think the only time you may see it here is if there are holes from grad transfers and the coaches are able to keep a guy they like on the roster. Most guys I've seen, though, are either ready to graduate or wanting to test the P5 waters as a grad transfer.
