Spring Game
Anyone go today? The 4 week old makes it hard for me to get out of the house. If you went, who stood out?

He's a walk-on, right? Going to be tough to crack the 2-deep with all the depth we have at LB, but hope he gets a shot to earn some PT.

Pauling looks like he is going one here for the next 4 years. Also good to see his HS coach came in from the Chicagoland area to watch his former player.

I went and sat in the rain. The defense looked great. The offense is always hard to judge in a practice situation because we don’t get the big QB runs.

The offense may face the toughest defense in practice they see all year. They're stout. Briggs is a beast inside. In Fick's words, we're going to get after the qb this year. Beavers is Nfl size now. He's got to be north of 250lbs. Man i so hope the stadiums are allowed to seat full capacity.

I just got back from Vegas and I put $20 on them to win the national title. They are 150-1 odds.

RE: Spring Game
Took my youngest down (kindergarten age) and had a great time. Always take the opportunity to spend a day at Nippert. Don't have a lot too in depth here as its just a scrimmage. But general observations are that the defense dominated the offense most of the day. The DL looked flat out nasty although I began to wonder about our OL. Offense was not sharp at all. Jerome Ford looked really quick with great burst. Beavers looked to me that he's bulked up quite a bit. QB play was not good. Ridder had several overthrows of wide open receivers. I thought Prater looked pretty bad although he was under a lot of pressure most of the time. I think he's got a ways to go.

Won't read too much into a scrimmage but overall a great day for football despite a bit of rain.

Beavers told me he checked in at 261 this morning...

260 1/2 of that appears to be pure muscle. 04-jawdrop

RE: Spring Game
It looks like Hober is running with the 2's at LB after making the transition from TE. Both position groups looked stacked. I'm hoping to see more from Huber this year.
