RE: More Cacok
Game opened with Cacok getting a steal, an assist, and an alley oop dunk off a pick and roll.

RE: More Cacok
Cacok started last night and got pretty big minutes (17). He made the most of it, producing 10 points (5-7 shooting), 8 boards and a block.

I don't know he will ever be a starter in the NBA. But with numbers like that, he will always have a place to give men a rest.

He could absolutely be a starter on many teams, sadly just not the one he's on when healthy. Whenever he's been given a chance all he does is produce

He has struggled defending big men in the NBA. He just doesn't have the size to consistently defend at the 5.

Yep. And until he develops a jumpshot he just won't ever play the 4.
Still. All he does is prove people wrong. I have no doubt he'll get much better at defending the 5 over time.

At a certain point, his size matters. This is the NBA and the guys playing center are just as talented, if not more talented, and bigger. Nothing wrong with being a 15-20 minute guy in the NBA. 99% of players never even get that. The fact he is in the rotation on an NBA team in just his second season is incredible. Not knocking him at all. He does what he does and he does it well. But these are the best of the best.

Beg to differ, while it would certainly help, look at this list of the top #4's and look at how many can't shoot great. I count about half.

Right but if he’s undersized, like 82 is pointing out, he has to do something to differentiate himself to become a consistent rotational piece. That means either finding a way to defend as best as possible at the 5 OR develop a shot so he can play the 4.
He’s gotten his minutes because of his rebounding and finishing at the rim. Now if he can add one more piece to his tool kit his minutes can soar.

We went through that, half those guys on the list of the best 4s don’t have good jumpers.
Look, all i am saying is that it’s possible, and not as impossible as some made it sound. Every time the guy has gotten a chance he’s produced.

I never said it was impossible. I expect it from him. He’ll either become a small ball 5 with improved D or develop a shot. And that’s what will get him increased minutes wherever he plays.

And my point was, there are already guys his size, with no shots that get minutes. Obviously improvements in those areas would help him dramatically, but getting steady minutes now is not an impossible feat, especially on other teams. We are splitting hairs

PJ Tucker hung around long enough to eventually develop a jump shot and find a role for himself in NBA. If DC can continue to refine his offense he can stick in league he might need to find another team though

That dude can shoot! He used to go to my gym in the summers about 10 years ago, dude would pull up from half court in pick up games and drain them like it was nothing.
