This is the perfect color set to go color vs color against VT or UVA.

Going total retro with the helmet also would be cool but I don't think they'd go for it. Maybe we could bring back white shoes, bulky shoulder pads, and tear away jerseys. Throw in some stick-em also.

If you look at my post history, you’ll see I’ve been pretty consistent in liking the “racetrack” ODU logo and hate the chef hat logo and font selection.

I think the race track would look great for a helmet logo.


A while ago I posted an idea for a fauxback uniform for ODU. I didn’t flesh out the idea all the way but a another user mocked up their take on my idea. The blue on white ODU racetrack helmet looks good. Stipe pattern wouldn’t work for this uniform, so disregard that part.

I like the retro logo also. But I think they will want to stick with official logos for the helmet. The light blue is still an official color even though it is secondary. Maybe they would be amenable to putting the racetrack logo on the shoulder or pants but I doubt we'll see it on the helmet.

Also, (not necessarily on this board) a lot of people are making a stink that we're "copying" or trying to look like UNC... This light blue is one of our school colors and always has been, and football has never used it even in striping or any minor details on the uniforms. Literally every other sport uses it either prominently in an alternate or as accents/piping for their regular uniforms. I'd much rather have this than the all black (and I like the all black unis). Next we need some silver unis to complete the look. I love this and thank you Ricky Rahne for fighting for it

If I remember Correctly, RR mentioned he wanted it because it's our name and identity or someting along those lines and wanted to stay consistent with the helmets this year. I love the chef hat logo the best and am glad it's back on the helmet

And this is precisely why I've been so excited about the Hudson unis. It blows our color selection wide open and just looks GOOD. If you look across the internet people have been really digging the look, and it took what I would say is one of the most basic uniform sets in the FBS and added a whole lot of style.

Also, and I don't mean to be greedy, cause we just got this awesome set, ODU football don't be getting my hopes up like this.

Just what I was thinking. I was pleased with including the Columbia Blue but wasn't really feeling the full on pants and jerseys. The dark pants & lids with the light jerseys is fire.
