Moussa is testing the waters and may be gone either way. I wouldn't wait around on him if a better or even equal big comes available. Dat's just me though.

Parrish just eviscerated Moussa's decision, and wishes the guy well
sounds like the "posse" may be in for a rude awakening
meantime, Penny will work to get his roster where he wants it, every single year

I don't agree...what he's done is allow himself more options and the chance to get feedback from NBA coaches/scouts.
odds tell us he won't sign with an agent and will most likely return for his 2nd season with Penny/Tigers
Hold on to your seat but I agree with you here.

RE: Memphis’ Moussa Cisse Declares For The NBA Draft
I strongly want Cisse back next year. The Tigers need some roster stability/continuity. Just because a "better" big man might join the program (if Cisse leaves), ... it can take time for players to acclimate.
Memphis has, essentially, its starting lineup back:
PG Lomax
Wing Nolley
Wing Lester
Combo forward Williams
Center Cisse
Let's hope they all return (assuming they will be happy in doing so). That's a very good lineup.
This, "Well, if they don't want to be here, Penny will bring in somebody better" mindset from some on the board ... I don't subscribe to that approach.
These five have played together for a season and know each others' respective tendencies, strengths and weaknesses.
I hope they all five return.

I agree. Just too raw at this point, I believe. One never knows about the way the NBA will evaluate based on potential.
I I think once you've declared it so hard to go back.
Not these days. DJ did it last year, when it was obvious he wasn't ready.

I'm hearing he won't be back. After NBA eval, I hear he will enter transfer portal. Not firsthand, just repeating what I've heard.
I agree. And I agree about the lawsons. But I’m hearing it’s real possibility.
If the Lawsons can guard I would be on board with them...But we still need another ball handler. I don't think either of the Lawsons fit that role.
Unless everyone is going to be OK with Hardaway being our 2nd string PG we need to add another ball handler.
Johnathon can't handle the ball? I've heard he can, but would like other opinions from folks who've seen him play.

Chandler has been offered a spot.
Number one priority is keeping nolley happy and in the fold so bringing in johnathon too is complicated
I don't think Johnathon or Chandler will take minutes from Nolley.

It would be nice to have him back and some overall continuity of the roster but sometimes you can't make them want to like being on the team. It seems like Penny did all he could to help him along so if he doesn't want to be on the team, it's best he moves on. Hope he realizes how much Penny has made him a better player and returns.

Especially boy kids. Their frontal lobe just lags...lol

Understanding the Teen Brain
It doesn’t matter how smart teens are or how well they scored on the SAT or ACT. Good judgment isn’t something they can excel in, at least not yet.
The rational part of a teen’s brain isn’t fully developed and won’t be until age 25 or so.
In fact, recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain’s rational part. This is the part of the brain that responds to situations with good judgment and an awareness of long-term consequences. Teens process information with the amygdala. This is the emotional part.
In teens' brains, the connections between the emotional part of the brain and the decision-making center are still developing—and not always at the same rate. That’s why when teens have overwhelming emotional input, they can’t explain later what they were thinking. They weren’t thinking as much as they were feeling.

"If the Lawson's can guard" is just another way to say if pigs couldn't fly. They are too slow.

RE: Memphis’ Moussa Cisse Declares For The NBA Draft
My 2 cents worth:
He gets advice on what he needs to do to get ready for the league. He also hears from at least one team that they will take him in the second round and put him in the G-league to develop. Now, he could come back and work on things and be a student. But, the staff can only work with him a set amount of time due to NCAA rules.
However, if he agrees and is drafted in the second, he can work with coaches hours on end, each and every day, unrestricted. No classes or other student obligations to take him away from training for his future dream.
I don’t know how the young man feels about his education right now, or if he is interested in getting to a money-making position in the league for his family. But I can see him taking the direct route if it is laid out like I stated.
Good luck to him in making the best decision for himself.

But do we know Cisse is unhappy being a member of the program? If so, I agree with you that it might be best for both parties to part ways. But Cisse may simply want to see what the scouts think and realizes he is not going to be a first round draft pick (probably not a second rounder either) and is planning to return.

Do any mock NBA drafts have Cisse being selected in the second round? I've not seen one but may have overlooked.

I wish him luck but I agree, just too raw. He was in the rotation but did not have a particularly standout year, IMO. But, maybe someone will see great potential - if he can get picked in the first round, the I say go for it. Otherwise, I would come back and work hard.
