Yes, but the potential is there. As much as I hate to admit it, Drew appears more willing to develop his young talent than Jans what we are currently seeing at NMSU. Any word on whether any of your seniors are returning for another season?
Sean Miller Moore is the only one returning. I know Lever recently signed with an agent. Midgard is getting married and probably did enough to get a nice pro deal overseas.

GCU still not signing four and five star kids out of high school. Of course any mid-major can land a four-star or five-star transfer. Do what NMSU did when they signed Herb Pope who was a five-star recruit before signing with NMSU in November of 2006. That's what I'm talking about. GCU can't do that.

After seeing the four-star kids fail at NMSU, I'm starting to think I'll rather have Zach Lofton type transfers. It's why I'm more excited about getting Marvin Johnson who has NMSU in his final four.

RE: 2021-22 WAC Basketball Commitments...
We will see what Jans puts together with the Aggie roster during this off-season. I'm of the mindset that Jans intentionally release most of his players (to look elsewhere) because I think he realized the chemistry of this Aggie team was not good. He had too many players with holes in their game. So, he is currently recalibrating his roster with players who (fit) are more adaptable to his system.

With these comments, it almost like a "tough guy" draw a line in the sand and daring a person to cross it. And, as each time a person steps over the line, that "tough guy" then draws a new line in the sand and dares again. At some point the dares will ring hallow. GCU is a young D1 program that is well on it way to becoming the new bully on the block. They will eventually meet every threshold Aggie fans might set. We (Aggie fans in general) need to stop talking about what we have done in the past as if makes a difference with what's going on today. We can use our past to project our future. But it has little to do with what other WAC programs will do as they move forward. Eventually, GCU will sign a 4 or 5 star recruit out of HS. In the grander scheme of things, it has little to do with how good a program is or will become; as NMSU signed 5-star Herb Pope and watched him transfer after one season. NMSU went on to win WAC championships without him. It's not about signing a 5-star recruit; its about the ones who take the court and what happens as a result. 4-star Marcus Watson gained us nothing. 4-star CJ Roberts gained nothing. Two star recruit Ivan Aurrecoecha bought us two championship. So stop drawing lines in the sand.

I still think NMSU will have a strong team (a WAC Championship contender) next season based on our history and our coach. But that has little to do with what other WAC programs will be doing in the off-season.

You like Frank are a bit of an instigator.

Agreed. Plus the Aggies are the team to beat until some other school can dethrone them multiple times. I hope GCU is not a one and done wonder like CSUB was, but we could be. Time will tell.

With GCU's recent recruiting. It looks like they are preparing for an encore. But time will tell. NMSU and SFA are historically strong programs and they both have very good head coaches, needless to say, the rest of the WAC is ramping up as well i.e. Abilene Christian, Cal Baptist, Utah Valley etc... The NLI day is just over a week away and we have a long hot recruiting summer ahead. So there is bound to be some really big signings by a lot of WAC schools along the way.

Lamar beat out SFA for Austin Peay transfer Jordyn Adams, a 6'4, 200, Sophomore; He was the 2020 OVC Freshman of the Year. Interestingly enough, he did not follow Matt Figger to UTRGV. He will play against him.

Per Verbal Commits, Cal Baptist just picked up Long Beach transfer Chance Hunter, a 6'6, 190-lbs, JR, Wing who averaged 12.3 ppg & 5.8 rpg. A very good pick up.
