RE: Final 4 Game Thread: Houston vs Baylor
Baylor is an elite team and we caught them on a day when they were largely hitting on all cylinders. Not many teams will beat this Baylor group on a day like that. All you can do is tip your hat to a talented well coached Baylor squad. We had a great season. It was a fun run by a hard working gritty team, but Baylor was the better team. Not much else to say. If Baylor plays like that in the finals they will grab a national championship.

Making the Final 4 is still a tremendous achievement. It's a t-shirt, hat, cut down the nets and trophy for the display case achievement. Houston had a helluva season under tough circumstances.

Gonzaga and Baylor are both elite.

Michigan with Livers was likely No. 3.

UCLA will finish third in the final polls (and deservedly so).

Houston will finish between No. 5 and No. 8 in the final polls (and deservedly so).

The better team won. It happens.

Congrats to both Baylor and Houston.

I am not sure I would agree on Houston having nothing to be ashamed about. I wanted Houston to win. My sister got her Masters from Houston, my nephew graduated from Houston last summer. My wife attended the school and I have a lot of friends that went to U of H. They should be proud of making the Final Four and embarrassed by their performance against Baylor. That was not Final Four worthy.

Michigan was hurt by the loss of Livers and they would have been tough to beat if he was healthy. They were tough to beat without him. UCLA was hurt by the loss of two starters during the season, one who was their best player, and the other another who was their best rebounder and second best scorer from the previous season. They also loss a five star recruit to the G League. I think both teams played well considering the losses, but UCLA might have been the national champion without their losses.

I would probably agree with you that the loss was somewhat embarrassing for Houston. I suppose I was writing in a general/season-long sense when I noted "nothing to be ashamed of."

I appreciate your rooting for Houston. As a Memphis and Cincy fan, I wanted the Cougars to win it all. Not meant to be.
