You will need a vaccine passport to do many activities, and to travel within the US, but you don't need ID to enter the country as an alien or to vote in the election. So funny, sort of.

Many countries are using the card for access. Your nazi analogy is hyperbole. It’s also temporary. An easy and no risk response that impedes on no individual rights. If you are ok with opting out of life have at it.

I show a card to get in to cosco. I show a card for road size service. I show a card to access buildings at work. I show a card to vote. I show a card for discounts. Need more examples, there are plenty.

Get off the immigration stuff. Leave it for the pol posts elsewhere. I agree with you but you are smarter than inserting into every conversation.

Why any unless statements? Stand by your convictions on showing and refuse to show any ID to anyone.

I even think they finally re-opened Riverside Dr on weekends!

I did not know that.

I dropped a friend off at a rental car place in the parking garage at the airport last week. I had to get a ticket but since I was only in there a few minutes there was no charge. Th girl in the booth, behind the glass and wearing 2 masks, screamed at me because I wasn't wearing a mask in my car. I just had to put my ticket into the slot to raise the arm to get out. She ran from the booth to call her supervisor. True story.

Mutations. By Sept. there'll be variants flourishing that get past the current vaccines. Maybe they'll allow 50% capacity or something more than the small number last year, but I imagine there will be restrictions again this season.

On the bright side, at least the Liberty Bowl isn't "too big" any longer, or at least for a for a while.

Hurtful and uncalled for. Of course I considered that. I'm no prince charming but I'm no hunchback of Notre Dame either.

What does showing proof of a vax (like we require for school and some jobs) have to do with warehousing Jews?

You have to show proof of vaccination for kids to start public school.
You are have to show your drivers license on request showing you have the ability to operate a car.
You have to show ID to get on a plane.
In most states you have to show proof of car insurance when asked while operating a motor vehicle.

But flashing a vaccine card = nazi Germany?

I expect the stadium to have no capacity restrictions.
I'll show anyone anything that is required.
I'd recommend they not slow the process at the gate down any further than it already is.
How a nazi reference got in this thread is evidence 1. our poor high education system and 2. that some people just want to be pissed off.

I have concerns about a vaccine passport and how that information can be used. Such a thing does have a history with nazi Germany. If you feel that concern is silly then so be it. Maybe it is. But I am still concerned. Here is a link for reference.

RE: 2021 FB attendance plan
i think our plans will be the same as 2020,
to try to live life the best we can before it is gone

we missed 1 home football game and went to the bowl game in montgomery (tip of the hat to john stacy)

on basketball
we missed 1 home game, went to the conference tournament and went to the nit tournament

we got our pfizer shots and wear our mask when instructed

we have made our donations for 2021 and purchased tickets

a normal pandemic runs its course in about 18 months
so hopefully by september, we will be mask free

Ridiculous, but not unbelievable. Some of those folks are nuts.

A silver lining through this whole mess is that it's a bit easier to figure out which ones are nuts these days. I've been to a few businesses where all they are concerned about is masks and taking it to the extremes. Now I know which places not to go back to.

One example. Kelly English. I used to love his restaurants. Over the past 13 months, I've seen him whining and whining all the time. First it was because Trump was shutting them down. Then it was because Gov Lee was allowing them to reopen too soon. Now it's because he can't get workers (but don't blame the extended unemployment benefits).

OTOH, I've heard interviews with the guys who own Railgarten and a few other biz, and they have always been upbeat, pragmatic, and making the most of the terrible position they are in. Same for the owner of Patrick's, who I think is actually the head of the restaurant association, and the guy who owns Rizzo's.
